This is geting ridiculous. And scary. Twice now this week this has happened to me. On Tuesday whilst out in York doing a Christmas food shop, I had a small and very healthy lunch out - I was very pleased with myself for making such a good choice! - grilled rump steak salad. I ate about 3 oz of steak and a small amount of salad. But the steak was a bit tough and chewy. About an hour and a half later, I was literally in agony. At first, I thought my gut had perforated again! But I got home, took some Tramadol, fell asleep and the pain passed. I just felt sore the next day.
Last night we had chicken burritos for tea: one of my very favourite meals. We have it with cheese (low fat cheddar), low fat creme fraiche, salsa and guacaomole. I had 2 tacos, but only managed one and a half. I enjoyed it SOOOOOOOO much!
But therein I think, lies the problem. I enjoyed it so much that I perhaps ignored Polly Pouch's little whispers of,
"stop now, I'm getting full." ....and....... "STOP NOW...TOO MUCH GRACE!!!!!!!"
so...after reluctantly leaving half the food on my plate (admitedly there was far too much on my plate in the first place! ) after about 15 minutes, the pain started up again! And sadly I had to drive to Ripon (about 40 minutes drive there and the same back) to pick up my son and some friends of his, from a concert they were singing in, in Ripon Cathedral.
Hubby was getting concerned, as I was almost doubled over in pain as I left the house. He wanted me to not go;I didn't either, truth be told.... but I couldn't see how else son and his pals would get home if I didn't. (hubby doesn't drive)
I managed to make it to Ripon, in increasing pain and also feeling extremely sick, but as soon as I got there, I had to dive out of the car, and retched and retched...an attack of the foamies had come on whilst driving...
.........so there I was, puking right outside Ripon cathedral! I was mortified, especially since other people were obviously waiting fore their kids too and watched the whole sorry and undignified performance!
The pain eased a little after I'd puked (sorry, TMI I know!) and the drive back was less frantic. But as we reached home, the pain began again.
I crawled up to bed, took some pills, including Tramadol, lay down...and promptly was up again, retching my guts up. Obviously even a few pills and some water to wash them down with, was too much of an insult for Polly to bear in her very bad mood!
Oh my word....the pain was simply agonising. I'm putting it down to eating too much.
I eventually fell asleep last night, but it took ages for the pain to settle.
Today I'm tender and sore and daren't eat much at all.
I suppose the good news is that my restriction, 4 and a half months out, is still excellent. And it's a salutary lesson not to overeat, especially with all the temptations of Christmas coming up.
But it's hard, when Polly Pouch doesn't tend to let me know much until it's basically too late! So I'm going to have to learn to guage much better what might be too much and cause this pain, so as to avoid it!
Has anyone else suffered to this degree? and if so, can you give any advice?
