Pre-op bander, op 09.06.13 - Just paid my balance! Eeek.

Hi! I'm so nervous and excited. I paid my deposit few weeks ago and just cleared the balance today. I'm feeling poor :cry:but excited to get it over and done with 09.06.13

Looking to make new buddies who are having ideally the band fitted around the same time as me and maybe other people who have gone private and have made the financial leap of faith.

Nervous, excited... have lots of slim friends who still don't understand how I need it doing to lose nine stone and why can't I just go to the gym.

I have PCOS and am wanting to lose weight to increase fertility but also for overall well-being, appearance and feeling good.

I have a very supportive partner of 6 years who has been lovely. He's also never been big and I don't think really gets it....

Any advice, support or hello's would be really welcome. Good luck everyone! xxxx

Welcome! I had my band narly 6 weeks ago and I feel amazing. I was also worried about the financial commitment, but I already know it's the best money I've ever spent and should have done it years ago.

There are some very knowledgable and inspirational banders who will give you lots of support on here.

You must be very excited... just about 2 weeks to go for you!

welcome! I made the financial leap of faith 9mnths ago yesterday...best leap I've ever made, I've lost almost 9 stone with my band and I love I it's a wonderful tool if you work with it and your providers guidelines and go in with eyes open that it on its own, is not the answer to everything,

I made that financial leap of faith two years ago almost and lost 11 stones (and am now maintaining successfully) and am over the moon with my choice. I see it as an investment. While maybe I eat better quality/more expensive food now, our food bills are still 1/3-1/2 of what they used to be. The investment has almost paid for itself financially already ...and I am sure I have given myself some extras years!

It's not an easy fix. It is definitely worth it though, if you are prepared to work with it and follow the rules.

Hi

I am being banded next Tuesday - private, like you. It is a massive amount of money, but like Michelle has said, I am viewing it as an investment in me and my future health and happiness, and being from Yorkshire I like to see a good return on any investment!

So I am going to make sure I follow the advice of my provider to maximise my investment and get my money's worth out of them!

I have been on pre-op diet for a week now. When are you due to start yours?

I have my first meeting next week, I can't wait. I couldn't get it on NHS........ Can't wait to feel back in control of my life .......good luck x

Lots of luck, its all really exciting, as much as the nerves kick in. I'm in four a band on Tuesday, same as Justine, then not long after that you're date will be through.
