Pre-Op Clinic appointment

It's today!



I'm strangely excited! Why on earth would I be excited about a hospital appointment?

Oh, I know.....It's one step further along the road to the new me!

WoooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The appointment is at 3.30 but we're setting at 1pm as it's a fair drive and parking at SR can be a bit of nightmare.

Don't want to be late!

We're gonna go to the pictures to see the Karate Kid later on this evening.

I'm finding I really need to keep myself occupied in these last few days pre-op!

Thank you to all of you, you're such a lovely bunch!

WEll, the appointment was in all honesty a bit of a 'damp squib'. All they did was weigh me (first job!), check my BP, pulse and oxygen level, take some bloods, ask a few questions and do an ecg. It's not a specialist bariatric clinic as I'd kind of hoped, but just the pre-op clinic all planned surgery patients attend.

My one concern is the MRSA swabs they do. Because if they find you're an MRSA carrier, they cancel the op until it's treated and cleared.

Perfectly understandable, knowing what a shocking bug it is to catch, but I won't know the results until Friday........well basically they don't ring you at all if the result is negative.

The waiting is going to be tough!

On the bright side, i was down to the required weight (though STILL not showing the expected 'massive' weight loss from the piggin' milk diet!) :sigh:

and on the even brghter side: I really enjoyed 'Karate Kid' and DIDN'T cheat on the mik diet! I took along a banana and a diet Sprite!

Which is a real triumph for me, as I ALWAYS much my way through copious quantities of popcorn at the flics!
