I've been given Omeprazole following my bypass but was told I'd only need it for the first six weeks then I'd be able to stop taking it. Dunno if this has been the case for other bypassers? The only thing I've been told to take forever is Forceval and Ad-Cal.
Found this today, it's slightly worrying, and highlights why anyone on PPIs long term should be taking calcium at a high dose with vit d. I would imagine the figure for WLS people is substantially higher than 50%.
