Hey guys. Bit of an odd question here but as I'm researxhing stuff prior to sugery i got to wondering - (this might not make a lot of sense btw) as i sit here im not really aware of my stomach. Like i dont feel it if that makes any sense. After surgery does ur new stomach feel odd or do u go back to the normal sensation of not being aware of it (like ur not really aware of ur pancreas or spleen for example).

Apologies for the weird question but its just something i was thinkin about!

Thanks to anyone who understands a bit lol

Hi I've had a bypass and I can't feel anything that was or wasn't there before or after if that makes scents. I'm more aware of where my food is going because I get a pain if I drink to quick or eat to quick but it's no different than you eating now and having that feeling of being uncomfortable and stuffed. It's not a silly question. I have heard that those with a band can feel it, the actress who had a band fitted let Emond Holmes feel hers on the This Morning program ( I can't think of her name, she had a baby married to a much younger bloke) but apart from that I don't know what others might say.

No, I cannot feel it, as mouse said, when I eat or drink too quickly, or don't chew enough, I get a feeling similar to the sensation of fullness I felt before my bypass, like uncomfortable feeling but it passes. I am almost two months post bypass now (that's gone quick!) and do not feel physical hunger at all, I can forget to eat at times, so have set alarm clocks on my phone to remind me to eat my small meals. :)

The only time i feel my stomach is after eating, i get a hard sensation in the centre of my chest which tells me im full. My stomach feels like it has no elasticity if that makes sense. Other than that no difference...

I too cant say I "feel" anything im just aware quicker when im full but im also practising been mindful so hear the "im full" signal much sooner and stop when I hear that dont try to push it by having that one more spoonful or extra bite just not worth it
