Rep question

How come everytime I try to give reps I have to spread it round to others not the ones I really want to rep,and I get lots of reps(thankyou,you know who you are)off the same person?Also what is the point of reps,I know it shows appreciation to each other but doesnt thanks do that?Maz x

Reputation is different to thanks.

The rep points should be used to show that the poster has made a really valid point which is worth more than just a thanks. There is also a limit to how many times you can rep someone. I think you can't rep the same person if they are in the last 10 reps you have done ie if in the last 10 reps you have given that person was the nineth person you would have to rep another person before you could rep them again.
this is meant to stop the same people giving the same few loads of rep points and making the system worthless.

Hope this makes sense as I have a tendancy to waffle lol
