Salford question

I have been looking for someone else who is at Salford! Are you with Mr Ammori? I have my first appointment there today and I am so nervous.
 
Sorry just read another thread from you and realised you are with mr Ammori! I also have a meeting with Carley today, I already have funding so am just hoping I go on waiting list after today. Hope u get your appointment soon.

Ah Zoe she is lovely let me know how you get on. She says that once she has approved your surgery you have to go for an afternoon to meet the team. We may be meeting up soon. Good luck sweetie and let me know. So excited for you xxx
 
You're right she is lovely, and she approved me so I am finally on the waiting list! I met the team this afternoon and was meant to have my pre-op but everything ran late so am waiting for another date now, am just so glad I am on the list! Just have to start my pre-op diet now as they want me to lose as much weight as I can before surgery. You never know we my be in opposite beds? Let me know when u get your date, the team were lovely with me!
 
I'm was at Salford. It was about 6 months from being put on the waiting list to my operation.
 
No I had a band - but the op you have doesn't affect the timing. Mr Ammori told me 12 weeks but it was 26 in the end - and I had to ring his secretary and push to get that date.
 
That doesn't surprise me to be hones, everything in this journey has taken longer than I was told it would!!
 
Omg got letter in post today that I have my pre-op on Thursday, hope that means my op not too far away. Also going to see dietician so will see how much I have lost, hope I have lost, I have been so good!
 
Peachie, hiya i am in north wales to and am waiting for sugery at the Salford Royal with Mr Ammori, have you had your funding approved, be good if we are there together.. xx
 
Hi, yeah I have had funding approved in January after a 2 yr wait! Just waiting for my op date now, have u got ur funding?

I'm in Flint, not too far away. when I went to see Mr Ammori I was told the waiting list is 18 weeks and u are on it from the date u meet the team.
 
Okay thanks, just would love to know when its going to happen, my doctor wrote to them over a month ago but not heard nothing, did you have to fill in a form to go down to cardiff hun and be approved for funding by them, very strict criteria, they wrote back said they have accepted me for funding to my gp and she wrote to a Mr New head of endoscopy services, just in limbo at the moment. So you have met them already?
 
Yeah I got told I got the funding in January I think I was referred to Mr New in Feb but only had my first appointment on the 5th May, when I saw the psychologist ( 1st app with her had been cancelled so managed to get one on same day to save another journey). Then I went into a group jetting with baratric nurse and was told about the options the saw dietician. After that met Mr New the Mr Ammori, they are a lovely team, just be prepared when u get ur app to see them it could be a long day. I was also meant to have my pre-op that day but I was last one to be seen by Mr Ammori and was too late for it, which is why I'm going on Thursday instead. I'm so excited that things are finally getting closer!

Oh you have been quite quick hun which is good, just hope i get mine this year, bet you cant wait for Thursday, do you know what surgery your having or will that be discussed then. So how many times have you been to the hospital, is this your 2nd trip. Excited for you xx
 
Hiya yeah this is my 2nd trip but at least I know where I'm going this time! I am going to have bypass! Mr New did suggest the sleeve and switch but I wasn't so keen on that idea, mr Ammori said he will only do the sleeve if there's anything during the op that prevents me having the bypass. I am very excited about Thursday, I first made my application for funding in 2008 and it all got messed up so feel like I have been waiting forever and now everything happening at once! But not complaining about that the quicker the better!
