hi all

well to say im not having a good day would be an understatement. i ended up at A&E today.

i decided to try a little bit of tuna im six weeks out so didnt see how it would hurt and i started to get pains they werent to bad so off i went out with my mate. whilst driving along they started to get worse and i felt short of breath so of course i started to panic which made my breathing worse. long story short my mate ended up taking me to the hospital cos i nearly passed out on her.

when i got there my mate informed them of my surgery and the hooked me up and did a heart trace and took my blood pressure which was obviously a little high the nurse then asked me due to my operation had i changed my eating patterns and had i had any sudden weight loss to which my mate then burst into fits of laughter the nurse seemed confused which given the fact i had told i had just had a gastric bypass seemed a bit crazy. i ended up having to have a chest x-ray cos they were concerned that i may have done some inside damage which then got me more worked up im a total worrier, then they gave me a shot of morphine for my pain which made me want to throw up.

after all that they looked at my x-ray and said nothing was wrong i had indegestion and that i was told to go home. so feeling like a complete muppet i got dressed and my mate brought me home. im still suffering with pains in my tummy but im not sure if thats just cos i worked myself up so much and im being a big baby.

it felt like i had an elephant sat on my chest i got really scared if i had thought it was just indegestion then i wouldnt of gone to the hospital so now im sat feel like a complete loon.

Oh dear, you have had a poop day!

don't feel like a muppet people have gone to A&E for a lot less (me being 1 of them :sign0007::ashamed0005:) at the end of the day you have just had surgery and any pain you haven't felt before is going to concerne you untill you get used to the new you x

could it have been an anxiety attack? sounds pretty much like one to me and they are bad, you feel like your having a heart attack so you get worse and around the cycle goes xx keep your chin up and remember the a&e staff are their to help you, you needed help and you got it so don't feel ashamed in anyway
xxx all the best xx

No, you're not a loon. Much better to get checked out.

Glad you're ok xx

A couple of months (approx) post op i went out for a meal with friends. We had carvery, yum yum, i had six sprouts or thereabouts with my meal and ate it at the speed i've eaten my food all of my life. Surgery hasn't changed that.

Within half an hour i felt decidedly uncomfortably and thought i might go the loo to chuck up. I didn't throw up thankfully. I popped the loo a few times in the next 45 minutes then we headed home. Within 10 minutes i was stood bent over the rear end of my car doubled up in pain with Mr PM rubbing my back after me asking him too. Then i threw up a massive burp, a bit of rabid dog, got in the car and drove home feeling a lot better...

Amazing the pain stuff gives us innit?

Better safe than sorry. Moral of the story? Don't try new stuff if your going out with your mates so early post op lol xx

aww u poor thing. hope u r feeling better today

You poor thing, hope you feeling better today, mind i never did like tuna.yuk xx
