Has anyone else set a personal goal in life apart from loosing weight?

I set one this week, told all at work and now the whole bloody office is coming with me to do it.

I thought originally it was something i would backout on as i usually did as a "fattie" cant be arsed lazy guy but thats now past.

I cant wait to climb mount TRIGLAV its here Mount Triglav... | Photo

I am scared, thrilled, excited and tbh full of life. I have changed so much over the past 2 months i really dont know why i waited so many yrs to do it.

So has anyone else set a goal? Or am i now just a crazy guy catching up on life..LOL

Good for you setting this goal and I'm sure YOU will do it...I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro 4 years ago and really enjoyed the challenge and as you know high altitude is tough going....Now post op and losing weight my dream challenge is doing Lands End to John O'Groats on my bike for a Cancer charity.....and like you feel NOTHING is to much now....
I hope you hit the peak and wish you all the best..

Mark

Yes I'm taking my grandchildren to Disney world in Florida for a week and going on every ride I can find, then I'm off to Kenya with my son for the church and going to to some missionary work, these are my personal mountains.

Both of these things I've wanted to do in the past and put off because of my size.

Good on you for climbing your mountain, hope it goes well.
xx

Hiya

I am planning to hike one of the trails down the north rim of the Grand Canyon when I go on holiday to Vegas next month. Last time I went to the Grand Canyon, it was the South Rim and I flew over in a helicopter (I was at least 65 pounds heavier then), and my husband hiked down. My goal this year is to hike down a trail with him.

I also want to run a 5k before the end of this year, and to try and run a 10k before my birthday in April 2010.

regards

MNL:eek:

Errr grandkids? No way! You don't look old enough for grandkids, i'm expecting my second within the week lol.

My goals, well i have all the usual fat girl goals, shopping in EVERY shop on the high street (well at least trying stuff on lol), going on fair rides with my young children..... But my biggest dream that i have had for years is so simple you'll laugh. I want to run again, if the bus is coming i want to run with my kids for it and beat them to the stop and not be huffing and puffing like a 90yr old smoker of 20 cigarettes a day.

A few weeks ago my kids and me and my partner went up to the local recreation ground and played rounders (not easy with four players) and when i hit that ball and had to run to the post the adrenalin was awesome.....

Maybe one day i'll run a race for charity i don't know. I just wanna run without my belly bouncing more than my boobs... :)

Take your dreams and make them happen up that beautiful mountain :):D

That was a lovely thing to say Julie, in fact I have six grandchildren and the last time we went to a fairground I had to sit out the whole day because I couldn't fit on the rides. Thats not going to ever happen again...lol

Wow 6! I hear you on the fairground story, when i went to Alton Towers a few years ago i went round on the cable cars loads of times just so i felt i was having at least a bit of my money's worth. Can't wait to do it properly with my kids, they think i'm a 'wuss' cos i don't go on the rides. It's not fear of the rides, it's fear of been told to get off as the safety harness is too small............

Life sets us boundaries, it's up to us to break them!!!!

my goal was to go on a plane and fit in the seat without crushing my husband into the wall. My ultimate is to go to kenya on safari stay at treetops and safari in the masi mara. Guess what have booked up for next july for my 50th birthday for all of the above. Need to loose lots more wheight though do you think i will do it have 12 months. Here's hoping. Janey :D:D:D:D:D

Good for you for setting such a fantastic goal!! I've not really set any goals but just hope that when my grandkids come along I'll be fit enough to spend happy days with them. They're a long way off yet as my eldest is only 21 but hopefully I'll get some in the next 3 or 4 years.

Great thread!

My goals are to play football with my grandson and to run the London Marathon in aid of my local hospice.

Lots of luck to everyone with their goals!

Lx

my goal is to learn how to swim. i use to take my children to the baths wen they were young and the water always looked so inviting but i was too emberised to go in myself.

Well apart from still being alive 10 years from now (Doubtful if I was still at 28.5 stone) Many many years ago (Couple of hundred at least) I had an RD250E motorcycle.

I have always wanted to get back on two wheels, but the image of a huge geezer wobbling down the highway on a 125 is not one to cherish :D

Add to that the greatly increased of risk of death in even a minor accident, and I have put it off for years.

Now though 11 stone lighter I am almost ready to get through the CBT and get my backside back on a mighty hog. Well a 125 anyway :D

Anyone got an RD125 going cheap :)

Oooh nice one Karlos, i never thought of that. When i was younger and only around 11st i'd have loved a ride on a motorbike but my parents would have killed me even though i was 18. Now i'm all grown up (way too grown but hopefully not for long lol) maybe i'll do it one day!

When I pass my test huni we'll go out on mine. It will be an old classic (That's 70s classic) just like me :D:D

Karlos...Excellent job on your weight loss journey that's incredible what you have achieved.....Re your goal "good for you" and the RD250...well I was a Suzuki GT250 man and just love the smell of two strokes plus the noise of those pipes and remember the RD350 and Kwaka 500cc all "something off a shovel"....JUST WATCH THE CARS out there though.....

Thanks markelsie

Size I am still the cars better watch out for me :D :D

The RD350LC was awsome wasn't it

I know bikes have moved on from my day and the Fireblades and R1'S have taken it all sooooooooooo far now BUT my favorite of all was the Suzuki 750GT Watercooler with the rad in the front...modify the exhaust clear roads early morning....and even better sensation than "You know what".....
