Does anyone else not sleep well? I have terrible nights sleep some nights and as you can see tmmggt is one of those nights, thought today might have helped as went back to gym after a few weeks of not going.

I suffer from insomnia partly due to medical problems if I sleep naturally past 1am I'm lucky after over 20yrs I've got used to laying there fixing & avoiding looking at the clock. I possibly sleep better than I think but am now so used to it I'm not phased by the constant lethargy I cope with.

I really struggle too. I just can't switch my mind off. It's so annoying!

Yep

I also suffer from terrible insomnia, what medication are you on as some medication can affect the ability to sleep.

For me Bizarrely its Morphine, what are you on.

Paul

Same for me,not slept well since the op three months ago, don't know why,if I get 3 or 4 hours a night I'm lucky,I think my mind is working overtime and its too active it doesn't matter how tired I feel when I go to bed it seems like I have am alarm clock in my head.Hopefully in time it may improve doc seems to think it will.Maybe relaxation exercises may help.x

I'm also a rubbish sleeper :( I put lavender drops on my pillow and breath slowly and deeply it does help but guaranteed only for a couple of hours sleep , if I could empty my head put my thoughts in a box till morning I'm sure it would help xx

I wonder if its a woman thing? I don't sleep to well either especially nights when my mind is racing, I go over and over daft things, knowing full well i have to be up in a couple of hours without having slept at all, then some nights I am fine. I ts just our bodies and age sfor some of us. xx

Sleep. That rare and precious thing !
I have never been a great sleeper but at the moment it's a huge issue. Not only have I got the racing mind thing going on but physically it's a challenge. My hands and feet are freezing, my body is boiling then cold, then boiling. It changes in a second. I have tablets for night sweats but they have stopped working. The duvet is on of, on, off...
Then there's the pain from my bad back. It's made worse by lying and as the night progresses I get pain in all my joints and generally stiffen up.
Then there's the pain from my weight loss - coccyx gives me jip, loose skin pinches when I turn over, baggy belly pulls me into a strange position. I toss and turn all night long.
Then there's my bladder- I'm in and out to the loo every hour and a half.
And the above my friends, is a good night. On a bad night I'm writhing in pain from my poorly gall bladder or get restless legs ( which actually affects my whole body).
Actually,it's no wonder I'm feeling so tired.
Oh well- perhaps it will pass lol xx

I am sending you a massive cuddle :) you really are struggling with all sorts at the moment xxx

Thanks Angie, I am. Not long back from physio and have had to take an extra tramadol. So hope it eases up before bed time xx

keep taking the pills xxx I have to take tramadol 3 times a day , sometimes recently my other health problems have had to be ignored to try to get on with the weight loss and gallbladder op , but I can tell I've ignored them and need to take more care xxx I really hope you start to feel better about things soon xx

oh bless you, i do go hot n cold whenever i eat food, my back burns my face n chest get hot n sweat then within 2 minutes its all over and am cold again. For my feet before xmas i got some little pull on footlet slippers fromPrimark they have wool inside and keep my feet warm take them off for bed after a nice bath i put them straight on then my mutha bought me some ooly knitted pull on boots from asda they fit nicely on top of my little footlets so my toes are like toast just my hands n nose now xx I only get restless legs when i'v been out dancing all night. My cocyx only hurts when i sit too long in one place, i started the menopause over 10 years ago and think that has had something to do with it all for me i am only 47 now and have had no period since june 2011. so think thats mostly over, had couple of weeks where the flushes stopped gain but they are back again with vengance xx happy sleeping all xx

I hadn't really thought about my hot sweats and food related , I have had no period since July 11 and for the last 10 years only about 1 or 2 a year so just thought was old age creeping up on me xxx

Well just find bout 10 mins or so after sometimes bit longer after food they come on warap up n strip off takes up most of my 24hrs a day xx

I get the hot and cold thing after/whilst eating as well ! It's not menopause as it only happens when I eat or get into bed ! Weird.

Hi Guys

Like you also used to suffer from hot sweats after eating and I am a bloke so its not the Menopause, with me it turned out to be big spikes in my blood sugar levels, and once I got that under control they went away. So it might be worth asking for you Blood Glucose levels to be tested, just in-case you have an underlying Diabetic problem.

And as for the lack of sleep and the need to go for a wee 3 times a night for me that was solved by the medication I have been put on for lower back nerve damage. Amitriptyline, which although its a nerve pain killer, its also prescribed for sleep issues and bed wetting so it fixed both sleep and wee issues as well as the pain problems.

Might be worth talking to your GP, don't start on too high a dose though as it can muddle the mind a little.

Paul

i already take amtriptaline (sorry about spelling) for fybromyalgia to help me relax supposedly to help me sleep unfortunately doesnt always work very well but is better than nothing :) i still have blood tester from when i had the dreaded diabetes so might just check that out when i am having one of those horrible sweats :) thanks for suggesting that x
