Im now just over 4 weeks post op and have been told that slow cooked braising steak and mash is a suitable soft food to try but im worried it might be too soon can anyone advise thanks :)

You will probably be fine, just make sure you chew chew chew the meat. It will go really tender as its been braised but just eat really slowly as some people struggle with all types of meat. Do try it though as you might be fine and its good protein :D Im ok with most meats as long as I take my time and chew lots .....Hope you enjoy it :D XX

Cook the heck out of it so it's falling apart. You may find it lies heavy in your pouch, i don't think i'd have tried braised steak at 4 weeks. Have you tried minced beef yet?

I agree with Julie...

4 weeks post op I could hardly have 2 teaspoons of minced beef...
And I still can't have "solid" meat except chicken and ham. Even chicken sometimes gets stuck.
If you want to try - be really careful.

Think i might leave it another week or so and stick to cottage pies and things like that thanks for your help

I think i was a good couple of months out before trying steak, but it was fine and i chewed it to death and only had a minimal bit :)

i was fine with beef stew at four weeks as long as you chew it well, i cant eat mince or chicken so as you can see everybody is so different so give it a try, if it doesnt agree it will come up i am sure. Good luck lovely xx

I'm 4 week out...only meat i've try is turkey, chicken, fish and tuna. To scare try steak. When you do let me know. My first fill is 12/29
