hey guys, was looking forward to having this for tea tonight.

Has anyone had bad or good experiences with it?

I'm a bypasser but I find pasta just far too filling and avoid it except in very small quantities.

bands and pasta dont work well together, forget the pasta bit x

just had my canneloni and it went down fine. had one tube. was about 200g. I wonder if everything ok with my band as im only 10 days post op and can manage that amount of food comfortably! My dietician said i probably wouldn't have my first fill for 4 months.

u have no restriction yet your band will be empty thats why you can manage this stuff.

FFs who is your providor ?????? there bang out of order 1st fill should be at week six......... NOT month four, shame on them !!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTLEY SHOCKING AFTER CARE, get on to them hunny x

Wow 10 days out and on proper food! I had to have liquids for 2 weeks, sloppy / mushy for 2 and then 'proper food'

Pasta is not a good band choice of food as the other ladies have articulated, for a reason :jelous:

What diet sheet / advice have you been given? My advice would be not to try and manage but to stick to what you have been advised ;)

my dietician at southmead hospital in bristol said to me that needing to stay on liquid or pureed diets for weeks after the band is a well believed myth.

She said that eating pureed foods defeats what the band helps to do as the food slips down too easy meaning you can eat more.

I am on soft foods at the moment but she says its really trial and error and in two weeks i will be able to try more normal foods.

She explained the reason that they take so long before a fill is to give me time to realise the band is only a tool and not a cure and to make me take notice of what im eating and to make the right choices before having a fill.

It does sound like southmead have a completely different approach and attitude towards the band as the have a lot of tests and counselling before they give you the band too x
