:wave_cry:Hi All, another question about when you are on the puree stage, what spoon sizes are you all using? Its just that lm using a measuring plastic tablespoon and dearest hubby thinks l should be using what l call the dessert spoon. You do actually get more on the dessert spoon than the plastic one, he says lm starving him to death lol. I know its not a lot 1oz of meat and 1 tablespoon of mash and 1 of veg but thats what it says so any advice to solve this would be very welcome:confused:

I'm using a teaspoon to be honest Teresa... just small bits of food and resting inbetween... love and hugs xxx

To be honest I just mash half small spud,2 dessert spoon veg,two thin slices lamb,or ham,or chicken and gravy.I had my op on the 21 feb and seem to have no probs eating anything, ive stopped pureeing and stop when im full.Tonight I had mash, cauli and broc mix,2 slices thin lamb gravy and the crispy top off a yorkshire pud all well chewed!I had 2 slices ham spread with lf cheese for brekie and 1 ham and cheese with a Babybel for lunch. If im peckish later I will have half a weetabix in milk for supper.Im having poached egg for brekie, homemade lentil soup for tomorrows lunch and fish and veg for tea.Hope this helps.Maz x

Wow Maz, you are doing great, steve had his on the 14feb and was told to stay on the purree for 3wks then 3wks on soft food before gently moving onto normal foods xx

I think everyone is individual and some may say Im doing it wrong but everything feels ok and i have never felt sick or discomfort from eating.I just chew very well.I am amazed how little fills me and Im not craving bread or biscuits!By concentrating on the protein, that satisfys you for longer than say cereal and milk.I wouldnt say go against what Steve has been told by his team, just use common sense.Maz x

I dont measure how much I have TBH, I just put myself a small portion (small side plate) out and eat what I feel comfortable with. When you are on puree theres hardly any restriction so he will be able to eat quite a bit more but when hes on dryer more normal food his restriction will kick in more :D Poor Steve lol is he trying to gnaw his arm off lol :D XX

Thanks Jacqui, l just thought l was doing the right thing as it says on the booklet from srh but like you say and steve , he can manage more than they say, oh dear poor thing lm starving him lol , maybe he wont feel as weak neither if l let him eat that bit more. Gosh such a big learning curve this lot everyday it seems not the easy way out for sure!!! xxx

Bet Steves glad of that Karen poor love must be starved, just chew well and stop before you get that full feeling. It takes a bit of getting used to.Im doing so much better eating a bit more,it may take longer coming off but your body will tell you when its had enough. My bowel works better too every 2 days no problems.I also find warm drinks/slimmer soups are easier to digest too.Always here if you need me.Maz x

Oh yes Maz the bowels lol that will probably be better as you say, feel a bit guilty but just trying to be careful still on right track now hopefully xx

Dont feel guilty, you are learning as much as he is....well we all are. At 5 months out Im still learning every day :D It takes ages to get used to what you can eat and how much and to make matters worse, things you can eat one day you cant eat the next lol :D We will learn together ;) XX

I dont measure nothing but I just use a side plate and use a teaspoon, even 7 months out....same as some others it enables me too make sure I dont eat too much at once and it suits me fine, even when i go out too eat @ restaurant or cafe I use a teaspoon ......HTH x
