Sleeve to Bypass
So sorry to hear your news, Lilyscent. I have read a few times of other SRH patients having appointments put back.
I don't understand what can be the root cause of it, other than *bad* time management and poor scheduling on THEIR part?
Is the part of the hospital dealing with you a specialist Bariatric department? Or do they deal with all stomach matters (inc gall bladders, hernias and stomach cancers) -- if the latter I imagine the priority of treating urgent cases, especially cancer would disrupt things .... but if that is the case and SRH *are* dealing with large numbers of bariatric patients, why not set up a large, specialist, dedicated Bariatric Unit?
In most hospitals who do have a dedicated Bariatric Unit, the appointments are more reliable (even if we have to wait 6 months or 12 months for our first appointment once we are on the list and in the system everything moves at a reasonable pace from that point onwards and it's fairly unusual for appointments to be put back, not a *regular* occurrence as it appears to be at SRH).
How annoying for you and all the other SRH patients -- perhaps you could get a petition or campaign together?
