I have booked an induction for Tuesday evening had my op nearly five weeks ago, not to early to do gentle excercise is it?.....
im only looking at treadmill and bike riding wont be entering Mr Universe just yet.
Just woke up with the random "is it too early" thought this morning, advice and thoughts welcome....

Hey well done for having the thought let alone going , i was told i could return to swimming 1 wk after op and excersice as soon as i felt ready, so i would think 5wks on you'll be fine , good luck .

Hi

You will be fine, good luck with your induction I hope you enjoy it. I was told it was fine to use the treadmill or walk as much as poss at 4 weeks post op. Swimming when all wounds had healed (people do nasty things in the water apparantly). Weights and sit ups etc 6-8 weeks but light and gradual.

I've just been for my pre op today and this was one of the questions I asked. I've been training with a personal trainer since September last year and I don't want to totally lose my fitness. The nurse said I could swim once all my wounds were healed, which they should be by 2 weeks post op, gentle exercise from 4 weeks on and then carefully back to weights from 6 weeks on, starting with very low weights to start with until I get my strength back.
