Still not satisfied

Hiya,

Well got on the scales this morning and was chuffed to bits to be at my goal weight but feel a bit selfish posting this because I still don't feel that I look like I've lost enough, still got big thighs and bit of a tummy. Think I would like to lose half a stone more, do you reckon this is just being 'weight loss greedy'. I thought I would be satisfied as this weight but apparantly not!

Of course you're not being greedy! It's not as if there is a finite amount of fat that is available for people to lose, and if you lose half a stone more that means someone else can't!!! We all want different things from this drastic move we've made and if it will make you happy to lose half a stone, and you are fit and healthy, you go for it!

Hi Judy

I think alot of people change their ultimate goal as they approach it, as long as you will still be a 'healthy' weight go for it!

I agree with Maz, people get to their original goal and quite often feel that they need to lose a little more.

Whats your BMI now? As long as losing any more isnt going to take you to an unhealthy weight then I say go for it... but being underweight is probably nearly as bad for us as being overweight.

I agree with Sam - go by your BMI. There's quite a big difference between being just into the 'healthy weight' range and right in the middle of it. And remember - your fat will shift around for a while - what's on your thighs now could re-distribute itself so your shape might change even if you don't lose any more weight. Only YOU will know when you feel just right. I say 'go for it' - don't listen to friends who tell you you don't need to lose any more weight, its not their body. Well done to get this far - I can't wait to be in that situation. Mxx

How did you come up with your target weight? If you are anything like me I just guessed at a figure I thought I could achieve. With the rate I am losing at now - I know it will slow down, but with any luck I may well be able to reduce the target weight. Still early days for me though.

Go for it!

Hi guys,
I just picked a target weight that I was previously and remembered feeling quite nice at that weight (9 and a half stone) but don't feel its enough now. My BMI is 22 at the mo.

I dont think your being greedy at all!! put it his way if I got to my goal I still wouldnt be satisfied lol I always have to go that bit more Ha! Ha! Ime in the 13 stone bracket at the mo and I want to be in the 12 stone bracket lol but hey ho when I DO! get in the 12 stone range the betting is I will want the 11 stone range it goes on and on Take care Gailx

I have changed my goal 3 times, first I set it for 70% of my excess weight since I was really not expecting to get any smaller. When I got close I moved it to 25 BMI which I was skeptical that I would get to. When I got in touching distance of that and I had months left before I got to my year surgiversary, I changed it again to 22 BMI. I am now 8lbs from my ultimate goal. I have lost maybe 5lbs in the last 6 weeks or so but my shape has definately changed, I have really lost inches on my thighs and bum, things that I wouldn't wear a couple of months ago look smashing now so don't forget it is not all about the pounds, shaping and inches mean more sometimes!

Nic;)
