OMG!! don't tell me things like this ive got the horrors of thinking Il have 5 incisions never mind 9!! And I didn't think u got stapled I thought they just glued them and dresses them or maybe stitched them xxx
I had mine taken away, rather happy about that as there's no spare bits just sitting around redundant! I read a lot about the different surgeries and as I understand it then 4 years ago the DS was where they took 3/4 away and left it with the RYN. Don't know if any advances have been made since however the DS was more popular in the US because of the excellent long term results and that helped me make my decision.
not glued definitely stapled they take them out after 10 days the district nurse came to me because i can't walk very well and had no chance after my muscle damage to get on a couch and lie there , but i believe if you are able you go to docs to get them taken out

At SRH with a Sleeve u get stitched and they dissolve so no removal... can't even see the stitches! The only staples we have are internally along the line where our stomach was..... creating our new pouch x x
Just to confirm: sleeve: 80% of stomach gets excised and is removed through the largest incision; in my case on my left side. So it's a partial gastrectomy.
With a bypass they create a small pouch but leave the rest of the stomach where it is.
I had 8 incisions. No idea why, and when I asked my surgeon about the one on my thigh and two on my back, he didn't seem to remember why they were there either!!
