Struggling!!!

Hi all,
I am now 9 days post op and was doing quite well with the liquid phase but the last day or 2 have been hellish.
I am desperate to eat :sigh:!!!

Now as I prepare to move on to the puree phase, I am feeling worse than ever.
The thought of pureed chicken makes me want to heave.
I don't mind potatoes and veg...if I can mix in a bit of gravy...or marmite???

Does anyone have any tips that can get me through this.

REALLY thought I was doing well

You can add a bit of gravy hun- and if you mix the chicken in with it it really is quite nice. I used half a teaspoon of chicken Bisto or Oxo instant gravy or just some chicken oxo diluted.
If you can't stand the thought of pureed meat mashed mushy peas with gravy and or mashed baked beans are good for protein. And get some Fage Total 0% greek yoghurt and sweeten to taste for a real protein boost. And don't forget low fat cottage cheese, laughing cow light triangles ( they do a blue cheese one now) and Philadelphia extra light. All good protein and you can add to your mash. I found Auntie Bessies frozen mash a Godsend at your stage. One patty will do you and takes only a minute to cook.
And at the end of the day, the mushy stage is short.
You're doing fine- just keep your eye on the prize and it'll seem easier I'm sure
xx
p.s. forgot- tinned mince beef is good too as very soft . Freeze it in little portions in an ice cube tray -a couple of tins last weeks !!

You can also make cheese sauce and parsley sauce to purée with fish. Or just buy fish in sauce and purée it. I found it hard to stomach puréed meat, so I understand how you feel. I also puréed Heinz chunky soups too. They were nice :)

Thank you both VERY much for some FANTASTIC suggestions.
I will definitely be using most of them...except anything fish related...yuck...LOL
