yep that was me... i am either first or second on the list, they need to use a c arm x ray so it depends if that is ready for me to go down first or not.. how you getting on with your pre op diet, i have done 9 days low carb and from tomorrow i am doing the milk diet for the next 5 days, i am scared that because i am soo big though my liver will not shrink. just last minute nerves i guess, it will be good to have someone who has their op and the same type on the same day to compare and support along the way. x

i am sure you have nothing to worry about,regarding your liver shrinking.from my consultation,to the day of my op,was 4 weeks,however they had a cancellation 2 weeks earlier & that was my worry,that my liver wouldntv'e shrunk enough,in only 2 weeks,but they reassured me,it can shrink,in just a few days,so i went ahead with the cancellation,so had only been on my pre op,for 2 weeks.
please do not worry,but i know that,is easier said than done

I've not been told anything about the milk diet. The dietician woman (the Geordie one) just gave me the liver reduction diet to do. I'm on as low carbs as I can, and keeping very low on fat and sugar, but there's no way I can do it as a liquid diet the way she suggested... just soup and drinks and jelly? I think not!
...although I'm enjoying the jelly part

i am on that because i have been really sicky with my gallbladder and carbs were the only thing to ease the sickness so its just easier if i remove them totally for the last week but i was given the same sheet as you and have done that for a week but the meat was making me sick and the milk i am hoping settles my tummy. i have 2 pints of semi skimmed milk and 3 low fat yoghurts and 3 litres of water a day from tomorrow. was gonna do it for the full 2 weeks but i think that would have been too much milk for me.

I am on the waiting list for bypass. Got forever to wait. I am kinda using the diet in the mean time to cut down my food which is helping me loose weight until my date
