Take a break magazine article - addiction replacement ??

Hi All

Did anyone read the article in this week's Take a Break ? About the lady who had a bypass but then became addicted to alcohol instead ?

Is this common ?? I'm very concerned as my sister is an alcoholic and I'm on the waiting list for a bypass.

I haven't been warned about "addicition replacement". Does anyone know how common this is ?

Claire it does happen. You can change your addiction to lots of things, sex, booze, shopping...

Notice i said YOU can change your addiction. As you are already aware of your sister's problem with alcohol do you normally abstain from drink or do you like a drop now and then? Personally if i were you i'd go for the shopping addiction. It's amazing how much pleasure you can get from rooting round the charity shops and it's cheap too xx
