WEll today is going to be one of my shattered days, i know this already!! as i am already thinking about going back to bed for a few hours kip. Something i never do during the day as i usually only have 5-6 hours sleep a night and daytime sleeping means i do not sleep that amount.... perhaps this is one thing that will alter with me, a need for more sleep

You have to listen to you body hun, if its telling you that you are tired and need more sleep, then that's what it wants x x x

 even when ive had a good nights sleep im usually tired by the afternoon, i dont know why this is, ive just learned to live with it now.

Yeah me too, I get Tired very quickly and If I do feel tired I have a sleep or go back to bed, I am actually thinking this today because I am up early. It doesnt help with me because I suffer from deppression and was like this before my op.
If your tired, Just go and have a sleep.

go with it as its your bodies way of repairing its self this early after your op. While you sleep your body can concentrate on healing from within more so than when you are awake. Once you are fighting fit and back to normal then you can always stop the habit, but for now listen to your body and sleep when you need to.x

i slept another 3 hours not sure how i feel atm will play it by ear whether i need more. All my wounds are now sporting bruises lol got some woppers as well obviously the main entry point. The wrist is finally free from the sticky tape synrome and had to use nail polish remover to get the rest of the tape backing off now it just looks as if i have shot myself up with drugs lol

I spent most of my first two weeks post-op feeling sleepy and napping. I did not have much stamina pre-op so the recovery post-op made me knackered. As soon as I started eating purees and getting out of the house a bit I felt stronger and less likely to need a nap. I also struggled with sleeping at night for the first 4 weeks due to problems with my back/neck which was completely unrelated to my surgery which accounted for some of my fatigue. I know take a pain reliever/sleepy time med at bedtime & I have had 2 accupuncture treatments for my back so I sleep pretty well.

Sorry to ramble!
Nic:)

glad your now able to sleep phatgirl, i am finding i do not need the co-codiene during the day, however i still take the first and last ones for this reason, any niggling little pain can ve vanquished so i can get to sleep.

i am sleeping pretty well, so much more then normal but i suspect that will improve as i get more energy and this is my bodies way of conserving it

I find im not tired until late at night. I guess everyone is different and you have had a bypass so it is a more altering wls. I hope it gets better soon 4 u. Take care R x

I have'nt had my op yet, but I could sleep my life away at the moment. I think its a lot to do with being overweight, boredom and depression. I hate wishing my life away...but role on this time next year!

well i went to bed early again, and as of today am on my own as Jonah is in scotland until a week monday. At least we had a decent amount of time together now i get to do all the injections myself lol. And he will still call me and nag me to take my meds which is sweet.

I found last night i could turn more on my side whilst sat back against the beanbag and this moved a lot of wind around, will do more of this over the next few days.

Hope you're getting plenty of rest! I'm really tired today as I have a tendency to forget I have had anything done, and try to do too much. I was on the go all day yesterday, and didn't eat properly and then took the dog for a big walk in the evening. Need to try and take it easy today but I have so much washing and housework to do and the chickens need cleaning out! Gotta go and do stuff!!

I think i have been one of the lucky ones as i havent been tired. cold yes but not tired. Saying that because of my job i have got used to having very little sleep over the past 17yrs so that has probably helped.
Hope you all soon recover and get the energy levels of a 3 yr old.

i also was busy yesterday grom left the flat at 10:30 and didnt get back until around 7pm lmao walked along the river to embankment to get the tube home, as well as plenty of walking during the day, a bit at a time, and lots of chatting sat drinking latte in the pub.

~I feel ok today do have a number of things that need doing LOL like ordering all my shopping for Tesco delivery so i can start prping it for next weeks puree foods as i start back at work on friday.

I get tired easy at the moment Im 2 weeks post op and when to tesco get a few things buy the time i got back to the car i was knackered think its because I aint getting the nutriants that I am use to I been told I have to do 4 weeks fluid then on to mush lol

It was a Lap bypass and i aon only a week post op and following the liquid diet recommended, this being 3 protien shakes a day, a chewable multivit a calc suppliment an oxo cube and free liquids. This can also include clear soups and smoothies to boost nutrients.

I am sure its purely recovery time, i have good times and bad, but on the whole they ARE improving. I saw the nurse yesterday and shes pleased with what i am doing and the way i am healing, my body heals fast os its probably making me a little more tired as it uses the energy for that.

teen wow 4 weeks fluids... i am on 2 weeks fluids then puree's then soft then normal on week 7. Good luck with that

Not sure if its because i was open bypass and not lap. Could also depend on the hospital I was at walsall

I think each individual surgeon has their own advice to offer. Mine was 2 weeks each of liquid, puree and then mush. and to then grdually reintroduce more solid food.
At week 3 i had to introduce a multivit, iron and calcichew all prescribed.
everyone recovery will vary depending on how active they were befor surgery and also if they have any other medical problems.
If the tiredness continues past 6 weeks which is the usual time for post op checks i would certainly mention it.
