Tolerating foods help please

This may seem a strange question but it is something that was not explained to me (going private drawback)
What exactly does tolerating foods mean and how do you decide what to try?

You will know if you can't tolerate something , vomiting it back being the most obv sign , different people get different symptoms

I'm afraid going private or not, won't make any difference. Learning what you can and cannot tolerate is trial and error. And what one person eats fine, the next person has pain eating. Like me and broccoli; my favourite vegetable. It's not a usual problem food, but I can't eat it.

My surgeon told me I have 16 months post op to learn what I can and cannot eat; anything I still can't eat after that, I'm stuck with never being able to tolerate. Oh well, just over a quarter of the way to that 16 month deadline! There's still hope for me and broccoli!

Im 14 months out now and can eat a little of anything. With me its not what I can/cant tolerate its what I fancy.Gone off most things I used to love,ie salad, veg meat, fruit!

I haven't been able to have tuna or fish i haven't been sick it just sits there in my upper chest as if its stuck, but have to keep introducing it cos eventually will be ok i hope good luck try everything and anything healthy xx

I would cry if I couldn't tolerate those items lol

I agree with others statements about going off foods. I can eat everything except nuts and prawns. I just don't fancy most things I loved pre op. I have recently developed a sweet tooth and unfortunately only dump mildly. (Feeling sick and needing to sleep). I walk round the supermarket wondering what to buy for me to eat but I don't want any of it!

Does a mild dump give the temptation to have a bit just before bedtime?? Lol!!
