travel.

I think it really depends on what kind of surgery you are having and if your having keyhole or open. I had my gastric bypass 4 weeks ago today and mine was open surgery and I'm deffinately not fit to travel and go on holiday. I would find it difficult to get the things I need to eat in a foreign country. Can't see pureed carrot and swede readily availible abroad lol

I'm not able to comment on other types of surgery but I'm sure some one will come along soon and give you their advice.

I had the band and by day 7 was back on ordinary food (as per my surgeons instructions) so eating at 3 weeks was ok, I could manage most things as the swelling had gone down and I had a limited restriction.

But this is a personal journey, some people take a while to heal others bounce back quickly.

Its hard to give a definitive answer.

you'd need to look at travel insurance and speak with your surgeon to be honest.

think shel has said the really important thing really. But also its only now at 6 weeks that im starting to be able to be more adventures with foods. still havent done bread or pasta and you may find it too limiting at this stage.
