Vitamin d injections

Pre op I was told I would need a Vitamin D2 injections.

In the end my Doctors found that the dose was so low (3000 and in injections were 30,000) that I could have capsules instead.

I might have to, if my levels don't improve. I've been referred to an endocrinologist, to find out why my body isn't metabolising vit d.

I start mine today, also very low vitamin A, to the point my sight is affected. The vitamin d def is giving me aches and pains with pins and needles in my fingers.

I just put my aches and pains down to being fat and carrying all the extra weight around. I must have been deficient for years without knowing. My hips and back hurt the most.

That's tough, I've only been deficient since the DS 4 years ago. The vit A is more worrying as I've bad night time vision.

Im having lots of aches and pains and being tested for deficiencies in vitamins and trace elements as low potassium causes achy muscles too.

Hope the injections resolve the issues Cicca :) Sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with deficencies :(

I've got deficiencies and I don't have my bypass until the 9th August. I am B12 ,zinc and vitamin D deficient. I have been having b12 shots and taking forceval and calcichew d3 forte, but doctor has now ordered D injections also as my vitamin D is still low and they want to try and get all my vitamin levels up to normal before my op.. Bit worrying really to be so deficient even before I have the bypass, but the dietician doesn't seem concerned about it..

I recently asked my GP to run some blood tests for me as I am 4 months out from surgery and haven't had any checks or assessments since then, just feel as if I am deficient in something ! Will get results tomorrow...I do have my first appointment with Bariatric team this friday, so will ask GP if I can take results with me, may save on having to have them repeated?

Sory to hear about your concerns over your vision, hope they get you sorted very soon. x
