:)Hi all, question time again!!! Just wanted to know how you all cope with taking the vitamin capsule? The reason we are asking is they are quite big and we dropped one in water to see how big it went and it did swell up very big so is this ok due to the pouch being very small? Was wondering if you all had any different ways of taking it or any ideas on what you all do?????Thanks xxxx:)

Mr Ammori prescribed Forceval for me Teresa... I get that down no problem after my lanzaparole in a morning... no one told me to bite it in half at Mr Ammori's clinic, and I started them around 2 weeks post surgery xxx

well i was told just to swallow them with a little water, the forceval are like horse tablets and i was fine taking them, but like you i was worried in the start so i broke it in half and mixed with milk and it was disgusting,so i just swallowed them whole.
and i was ok.

You can buy chewable vitamins. Boots do kids ones, but 2 of them have everything you need. (double the recommended child's dose have the same content as 1 adult A-Z vitamin, I asked the pharmacist.)

That's what I take as i was struggling with the adult type.
They're the Boots A-Z vitamins. Supposedly strawberry flavoured. A bit yacky tbh but passable.

Thanks girls l knew you would all help out , such a relief to be a part of this group and its not me but hubby who had it done but l love the site everybody is lovely xxxxx

We love you too. Just ring our team if in doubt Teresa... but keep getting the pills down if you can, they all help in building up our stamina again Angel, it's early days for Steve.

See you both at one of the next Salford meetings. I'm there with our Dotty... or Jac...

Love and hugs xxx

Hi guys, I am 3 months post rny and saw you discussing vitamins an have a question. I was prescribed multivitamin, vitamin b strong compound and vitamin b12 (cytobalmin) all of which are tablets that I crush and mix with water. I assumed I couldn't take any tablets for at least 6 months and struggle to get the right liquids/ tabs to crush. How soon post op can you normally pop pills ? Doesn't this effect the absorption ? Any advice would be gratefully received x

I was swallowing my vitamin tablet and all the others just short of 3 weeks after surgery. The vitamin one is big too! XX
