forstly welcome to a wonderful site.
I'm from Cornwall so probably no help at all but here goes im assuming its nhs funded and you have your funding ok. For me first had to attend a multitude of group sessions, and see the dietician before i got my funding .
Once funding was agreed had to wait about 2 months for my meeting with surgeon and his team from then it was straight on the waiting list, unless there are any complications. Once on list 18 weeks (i believe 18 weeks is the longest wait they can have before they are fined, don't quote me here tho) all areas work in very different ways and have completely different procedures, I ope all goes smoothly for you x x x my complete wait from the start to op was just on 3 years but have heard of cases done and dusted in a couple of months !!! again welcome x x x

Ive had all that its been funded ...ive met the surgeon an his team its a pre op assesment all the last an final checks.. till my op ive got this far in six months ive herd stories on ppl waiting for 3 weeks after its funded just really excited have u lost much weight since yours ???

Didn't have a pre op assessment just final bloods at docs and a telephone assessment just 2 weeks before while was on pre op diet. Well done in making it in 6 months
hope its not too much longer, i know the wait is a nightmare. My op was just last Thursday, so far i lost 1 1/2 stone on pre op diet will weight proper tomorrow am hoping to have done 7lbs sine op bringing total to 2 stone good luck hope it comes quick x x x

Good idea Brian be sure to let them know of your holiday days see if you can be done during time off. never know could be much sooner, hope work
are ok about extra time off.

hiya brian.i am from Bradford.i got my funding last feb.but had a few problems on the way.we are not all alike.in nov the dietician and psychologist signed me off.then all the paperwork had to be sent off to consultant.but I had to go back to aneathatist just to clear up something.i rang the department at the bri that sends appointments out for surgery.and she said all they was waiting for was the all the paperwork to come back.i got a letter for the 14th jan for my pre op.they do bloods heart water works and loads of paperwork.i was there for over 2 hours.i was told to ring back in 2 weeks to see if she had received paperwork.my op is provisionaly booked for 13th march.all been well.like I say brian we are not all same.and things seem to be pretty straight forward for you.so give the dept that gives you appointment and they are nice very helpful.im at the bri.i have a big holiday booked with grandchildren so I know how you feel.i do hope you can make head or tail of this.you take care soohoo
