what we had for our xmas dinner

mmmm turkey, roast pots carrots peas, stuffing gravy. Fudge cake custard and far to much choc and **** lol Champagne and vodka Roll on the new year so can get rid of all the **** in the house lol

I had couple of spoons of mash, couldn't eat the turkey, had few spoons of mash and then a bit of trifle for desert. However, I drank far too much all over Xmas so calories must have gone through the roof buy hey ho new start in the new year. Luckily I haven't put any weight on which is a first!! Have never been through a Xmas without putting at least 10lbs on so that's good!

I really don't think my bypass has been done properly ?

I could only manage a tiny peice of turkey soaked in gravy and two small spoon fulls of mashed up potato and veg - thats not the problem, later on in the day I had a small slice of gateaux that went down well and stayed down, a chocolate, a small slice of cheesecake and a glass of wine, then I tucked into some nibbles with dip !!!!!!

Im trying a little of everything to see what happens and strangley I can stomach sweet things like cake and chocolate but not savoury things like veg and mash ?

I weighed myself this morning and have gained 7lb

How can this be happening ???????

I had this op in the hope that I would not be able to eat the sweet stuff cos I would be sick and not stomach it.

Im not happy.

I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas day, and Had small slice of turkey, about a teaspoon of chestnut stuffing, 3 sprouts, 1 little carrot, 1 roast pot and lashings of gravy. Later in the evening managed a bit of ham, a small amount of bread with some stilton and some salad.

I managed fine with the food. No problems whatsoever and didnt feel stuffed for the first christmas ever. I had alcohol for the first time post op as well and had one glass of wine on xmas day, and one on boxing day.

Oh, and have had 3 thorntons chocolates. Its remarkable that 3 makes me feel slightly sick now, where before I could have easily eaten my way through the whole box.

Fat again...that is the reason that I am not even attempting chocolate and sweet things, I need the fear of dumping to keep me away from the crappy foods.
Even though you now know that you can eat those foods you need to tell yourself that they dont add anything to your dietary requirements and so they dont need to be in your consumption, works for me but not for all I guess.
Maybe convince yourself that this was a once off and maybe next time you wont be so 'lucky' and may dump big time.
Personally I dont have the desire for those things any more, I am much more sensitive to sweet things taste wise and I think that cakes and chocolates might just overdo my taste buds, but Im determined not to find out.
Just put it behind you and get that 'fear' back, you might just have gotten lucky this time, next time it could make you rather ill.

I had a slice of turkey (only ate 2 bites) 2 teaspoons of mash 2 sprouts (yummy love sprouts) a floret of broccoli 2 teaspoons of stuffing 1 pig in a blanket and gravy and i could barely eat it I had to skip pudding my tummy hurt in the evening I had 3 quality street sweets then felt full and later had a few ritz cheese biscuits and 2 glasses of J2O Mmmmm.
It was nice not to pig out big style like i used to and i weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 2 Lbs yippy

I had chook (as dont like turkey) roast potatoes, veg, gravy and yorky pud. I know I not had op yet but I thought I share wot I had it was scrumptious. Didnt have no starter or after as I am not a sweet eater......

well i had agreat xmas day, tried turkey on boxin day and it just dint feel right, think i have been eatin to much potatoe as i was a lil sick but other than that ive been great. need to get more protein in me so gonna concentrate on that xx

glad everyone had a great day and enjoyed ur food xx

I had 5 prawns & 2 mini quiches as starters, an hour later I had 2 thin slices of gammon, a few baby carrots, 1 roast pot. For afters (2 hours later) I had a glass of sugar-free but alcoholic eggnog & several sugar-free gingerbread men. On boxing day I had more shrimp, couple roast pots, couple pigs in a blanket, a little ham & a glass of wine, more sugar-free cookies and eggnog! Also had a small choc filled with liqueor, yum but strong thus I only had one!

I really enjoyed what I ate but didn't eat much volume. I enjoyed the flavours of the food and really didn't worry about calories, fat, etc just enjoyed my pouch that is so easily satisfied.

Nic;)
