Hi guys, I had my bypass on 13th July and everything went really well, no pain at all, no dumping, no sickness and in the first week after surgery I lost 12lb....I have been on my scales every day (I know I should'nt, but can't help myself) and this last week I have not lost another pound and this morning to my horror I have put 1lb on...is this normal??

yes very normal most people will have a problem at week 3.
Your body has just realised that something has happened and is rebeling.
Don't worry and STAY OFF THE SCALES

Ha ha, thanks Lamornamiss glad to know this is normal and yes I have convinced myself to only get on the scales once a week

Eek this is pretty much what I wrote on a thread a week or so after my op! Don't worry it does start shifting! As already said your body is breaking out. It will settle down when it accepts that this is the way it is!!! X

Oooh.... and stop weighing yourself!!! I've cut down to once a week, try that instead! X

Yes worry not

Best way to do it I think if you're eating the right foods exercising sensibly your body will gradually realise you're not starving it and settle into the new regime and let the weight go.
Scales once a week is a good check without panicking due to daily fluctuations up & down.
In fact letting things go along gently without worrying will probably amaze yourself next time you check those scales.
