There are some banders who have done amazingly well. But as heavy as I was and given how poor my relationship had gotten I didn't dare risk my one chance on a band. I wanted the most final most drastic option because my weight was making me so very ill. It is ultimately a personal choice - you've got to go with what you and your surgeon think will work with your eating patterns.
