I honestly think I'm getting enough food in now
I'm sleeping well.
I'm not stressing about too much about stuff.
I'm dying to write my story on here but I'm so so tired
Staggering tired
Falling asleep tired
Can't think straight
Can't remember stuff
Totally away with Topsey fairys!!!

Am I doning something very wrong?
Missing something obvious?

The pink ones brain is missing
XxX

Hi iinklii, sorry you're still feeling tired sweetheart. If you think you're eating enough do you also think you're drinking enough? Dehydration can cause tiredness too. Whats your protein intake like too? I'm not a bypasser but a bander so I'm sure an experienced bypasser will be along with the answers for you soon. Take care xxGaynorxx

Cant really advise, but Im nearly 2 weeks post op and am also really really tired most of the time! I cant stop yawning...Maybe its just our bodies reaction from the surgery? x

Don't worry too much about the tiredness it is just your body adjusting to what it has been through and the healing process. I am 3wks post op and i'm still knackered and due to the internal bruising pains i am not sleeping very well at all so you are lucky that you are able to sleep. Just remain patient and i am sure you will start to feel less tired as time goes by xx

Hi Hun,
Sorry to hear your still feeling tired, Im tired all the time always wanting to nap, but mine is due to waking up in pain through the night.
Your pain is most probably what others have sais here, due to surgery, surgery can wipe you out, your body has been through a major op and change .
If your not happy and are worried why don't you phone Kirsten or one of the other post op help Nurses.
I do hope you feel better soon.
Hugs xx

Hun you are only 2 weeks post-op, you still have to heal up and that is where all your energy is going. Have you started vitamin & mineral supplements yet? Sometimes they can help. I would suggest that you up your protein a bit, drink a minimum of 2L of low-cal fluids per day and speak to your team about supplements if you haven't been given them yet. Also, have some patience:rolleyes:. You will start to feel more energetic soon. Take it easy on yourself, you did just have major sugery! It takes 10-14 days just for the anesthetic to completely leave your system, give yourself some time. You have been on drastically reduced calories over the last few weeks so as you transition onto purees and then soft foods you will be able to get more food in which equals more energy.

HTH,
Nic;)

IInki sorry to hear you are so tired but Nics right it is very early days and you are not going to regain energy overnight look at all the things nic and gaynor suggested, supps, protein fluids etc and then take it from there. Another few weeks down the line I am sure you will feel so much better good luck

Jay xx

Hi IINKI
I think nic gave you some fantastic advice, I don't think I was ever that tired so I'd get some advice from the dietician.

Take Care

I am 4 weeks post op now. For the first 2 weeks I was tired all the time but now I am adjusting and can last all day without falling asleep, going back to work on Monday thank god, only problem is I run a cafe and don't know how I will cope with the smell of fresh baked baguettes....do you reckon I could puree one!!
Make sure you get the recommended protein and vitamins and plenty of water, it helps. Pauline

Hi iinklii how are you feeling now, has the tiredness improved? I only ask as I too seem to have hit a 'oh my god I am knackered wall' after feeling sooo good last week! I went back to work (part time sit at desk all day) after 10 days and all was great. I do agree with keeping up the fluids etc, and I think I have done pretty well at this but I just wonder if the lack of fluid foods (I really stuggled to drink my meals as I just wasn't hungry) maybe that is now having an effect? I've got 3 more days of liquid diet to go then I'm on to the mushy food, YES! How's the weight loss going as well? You and I are quite close in start weight and op date, just wondered how it was going? x
