2weeks & 6days since op

Okay, no probs. Will call Monday and let you know outcome. T xxx

Ladies I think you all just need to make sure you keep hold of your signed paperwork so you have something to refer back to should you need to. I am sure they cannot change your plans for aftercare you have signed up to, if its documented in the contract, but with new patients the deals/contracts may be different.

Tbh I have had a fab experience with thg and having another op with them in 3 weeks. Not needed the 6m surgical side of things. But if I need to speak to a dietician I can always get through to one. I usually email, and ask for a call back, but sometimes i phone. Emailing usually gives the dietician time to get the records out, rather than if you phone, you are speaking to a receptionist who doesnt know you and your history. And before a fill or defill if you are on the two year unlimited fills etc, they actually won't do that band adjustment, without you speaking to a dietician. Some people sign up to just 6 months aftercare, so I am not sure what happens then ...

Well done LOckerz by the way :D

Thanks Flutterby. I will look mine out. I have a minor problem with two of my incision sites at the moment, both of which are not healing due to protruding stitches. My GP has looked at them but feels THG should deal with them if they do not begin to improve as it may affect any aftercare I have in place. I'm going to give them a call later to discuss as I'm mindful of importance of dealing with potential infections quickly now I have my band as, like knee replacement prosthesis etc, infection can grow on non living tissues. T xx

Mm definitely, and like Jo said on another thread, email is a good way of keeping a record of what's happening ... Just in case you need evidence of your discussion :) hope they are sorted out ... Just makes me realise how lucky and pain free my own journey has been x

I had a protruding stitch, don't worry! I thought oh no what if it gets caught on something and pulls my band out (it was sticking out 0.5ml!) Only just remembered reading this and it's gone now!!!!

Thanks Dinky, reassuring to know - my GP thought it might just dissolve internally and drop out internally. How long did yours take? T xxx

Exactly 6 weeks post op today and over the past 8 weeks including pre op diet... 25lbs down and now in the 17's!!! I am chuffed to bits with that despite all the ups and downs ;)

Hi I am 6 weeks post op and two of my scars are still open. They do scab over but then turn whitish green so I know there is puss undernieth and they weep again. I had the protruding clear stitches too and some fell out after I washed in the shower. I have a picture of my port scar I am not sure how to upload, I took it on monday to show I had at least 8 injection from them attempting to fill me monday and you can see how purplish red and how open it still is. I am not sure what the hospital group can do to help me heal though? And I am sure they are still going green due to those clear stitches still inside. Who knows, will we ever know? It is hard to get answers...

Well done! I'm 11 days post op and have lost 8lbs so far. 18 1/4 lbs inc. pre op diet x

You ladies all seem to be doing really well with your loses, can't wait to get banded and join you all on the losers bench - 5 weeks Thursday and counting x

Hi LOckerz well done on your weight loss you are doing fab. I'm one of those who had a band that didn't work and it wasn't the fact I wasn't following the rules, who wouldn't after spending £8000, it was that everything I ate which was not a slider food got stuck. Didn't matter how tight the band was! Vomited for 2 years every day until,I decided to get it taken out and bypass done. I'm really pleased for everyone who has had a successful band but empathise with those who have had problems with it
