Hey guys sooooo i like a little drink with the girlies, esp vodka lime and lemonde mmm mmmm or rose ha can you have a drink / get drunk with gastric surgery?..... im not a raving alcoholic haha just wondered x

I think they recommend no alcohol for the 1st year, not sure if everyone sticks to it. My dietician said its because alcohol is empty colories and when drunk you might eat things you shouldnt, and you will get drunk quicker :D x

o well!!!! cheap night for me then! pass the voddy ha x

My provider says 12 months i think, not sure as alcohol has never had the same pull for me as food does.

What you need to remember Kelly is that as dotty says, alcohol is empty calories so if you can keep your intake down or spread the calories out with 'long' drinks it is better for your weight loss....

o yeh defiantly i dont go out much nowdays anyway but i just wondered if i went out if i could..... oo cool :) thanks for that girlies xx

I too am a vodka drinker and have had a few at social occasions. i've also had some red wine too. Its the same as everything else its about moderation. Its a funny sensation you get drunk a lot quicker but i find i also sober up a lot quicker. I'm not a raving alcoholic either hee hee just like the odd social drink x

haha allie..... oooo well ok all good info ta very muchly x

I was told to lay off the alcohol totally for 12 months

oo vodka and cranberry is good! x

Im not a drinker much either, i suppose you can count on 2 hands the times i drink in a year, however, when i do have a tipple, my poison is port and lemonade oooooooooooh delish!

ooo cheeky vimtos!!! port and blue wkd in a pint pot eeek yes a pint hahaha with loads of ice mmmm mmmm x

bluerrrghhhh that would be heartburn hell for me x

Hi Kelly

You can drink alcohol after a band, although you might want to wait until you are on food lol. Try and stick to low cal and avoid fizzy at first. Further down the line something fizzy with ice to kill the bubbles should be fine!

ooo thanks for all the replies lovelys x

A whole YEAR without alcohol!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my word!

I'm not a big drinker at all but a YEAR! I'll miss the odd tipple of rose wine.

yes me to charis! :-/ x

My provider said avoid in first three months then in moderation and avoid fizzy , i dont go out that often but when i do i drink wine with fresh orange or malibu and pineapple loads of ice . I get drunk so much faster prob by the end of second glass if i drink it too quick but then sober up back to normal within half hour of drinking it , its very strange lol so moral of my drinking now is take my drinks very slow and it turns out to be a very cheap merry night,, now im out on saturday and that will be a very very merry night lol
