Will be you soon....

Been a few days since I updated.

The swimming session was fab, took Chloe and Scarlet my two grandaughters and had a whale of a time. Might take them again later this afternoon before they go back to mum ready for school.

District nurse has decided that I can look after my own wound care now and is only going to pop in once a fortnight to see how I'm doing, how great is that? I still can't fly over to Spain though because they don't want me going into a hot climate until properly healed. Thats not so good, I have such a lot to sort out over there following my fathers death in Jan (he had property over there).

I'm walking between five to ten miles a day now and have finally ordered that bike I was threatening to get, not so sure my youngest son is too happy about that because he lives the closest.. Ha Ha.. He's a darling bless him but already moaning because I've had him out walking with me. I've lost another 4kgs this week too.

Talking about my youngest. He treated his father and I to a meal the other night and announced that he's about to be a dad. Aimee is in Greece at the moment with her friends so we can't celebrate till she gets back but we are so thrilled for them. On top of that and this slightly more special my second son also rang and told me that they are expecting too. The reason its more special is because they have lost three babies and had an eptopic already. They kept it to themselves until Kelly was just under five months and the doctors said they thought she is out of danger now. Its been a long road and a lot of money on IVF for them but this was fantastic news.

Its funny how things turn around isn't it? Earlier this year I would have said it was turning out to be one of the worst years of my life what with losing my father then the surgical problems but now its going completely the other way. Weird but great.....:)

Mind you just thought... That will be eight grandchildren and me only thirty one.... Cripes....lolol

Hi Bonita

I know your journey this year has been a tough one...You have certainly been an inspiration to many of us here on Mini's.

Congratulations on all those gorgeous grand babies due...that's fantastic news...Good job you are on the losing side as you are going to need all the energy to chase that little lot around.

All the best to you and your family.

(((hugs)))

Been feeling a little down over the past couple of days. My eldest son came over yesterday so along with his sons and my other two grandaughters we all went swimming.

Of course the pool was full of kids and within a few mins of getting in the pool I overheard a group of boys poking fun at my weight and for the first time in my life this bothered me. I wanted to scream at them...'I'VE LOST SIX STONE DON'T YOU KNOW'..lol It wouldn't have done much good so I just ignored it and carried on playing with the kids, but it did get to me.

On top of that, this eating business is becoming a bit of a joke. Yesterday all I managed was a bite out of a plum and half of a tin of soup both of which came straight back again. Even liquids are making my stomach hurt. This morning I mixed half of a muller light yoghurt with some milk and even that felt uncomfortable and came back shortly after.

I don't feel hungry or anything but I am getting a really uncomfortable feeling inside my stomach when trying to get fluids or slider foods down and awful pain if I try to eat anything remotely solid, even after one mouthfull. Get the results of the blood tests this afternoon so may be some answers there and roll on Fri when I get to the hospital.

This journey really is a roller coaster isn't it?

HI Bonita

Sorry to hear that you have been feeling down right now...Well done you for not rising to the bait of the twits poking fun at you...by responding you might well have given them what they wanted...Even so, how bloody rude of them.

With regards to eating Bonita, as you know am not a post op but just wanted to say I do hope you get this sorted very very soon...so good luck on the bloods this afternoon...

And well done on your weight loss so far...amazing!

Take care

(((hugs)))

are you still managing to get fluids down Bonita? Keep up with the fluid if you possibly can as dehydration can set in quickly. If you are struggling with fluids get on to the hospital asap.

Hope you feel better soon matey xx

I am starting to struggle with fluids Sam. Rang Walsall this afternoon to be told 'the earliest we can get you to Mr Khan is Fri and you really need to see him, but we will get Anna to ring you back'. So far she hasn't.

Rang my own doctor and she suggested trying 1oz of food every hour on the hour, going back to sipping water all the time and has put a prescription up for something like Dioralite that hubbie will get in morning. She said keep at it because even if I'm sick some of it will have stayed down.

I'm also supposed to be going to Drayton Manor with the kids on Thurs so hoping I can struggle through till then, don't want to disappoint them.

I would say forget the food for tonight Bonita and try and concentrate on sip sipping as much as you can manage. If you are still struggling with drink in the morning then get back on to Ana.

Bonita was catching up with your thread, and firstly congrats on the impending pregnancies of your two daughter in laws
How on earth can you have six gc already when you are so young?? Did you inherit them??
Also glad to hear your wound is doing well and that you are getting into an excercise routine that is really brilliant, well done you.
Sorry your experience at the pool upset you, but chin up you have done so amazingly well and as I said before you look incredible, you really do.
I am also concerned to hear your are having trouble with your eating and drinking and hoping you were able to get some attention and resolve it, and how were the blood results??
Hope you are feeling better, you have been through enough and am hoping things are sorted sooner rather than later

Jay xx

Hi Bonita - how are you now? How were the results of your blood tests? Did you manage to speak to Ana? Have you seen Mr. Khan yet? Sorry, so many questions! I really hope you are ok. And congratulations on your daughters-in-law's pregnancies. xx

Went to see Anna and Mr Khan last Fri. Haven't been able to update because I've had one of my sons and his family staying over the bank holiday and they have certainly kept me really busy.

Mr Khan said that he is going to send me to have a camera put down and is convinced that the entrance to my stomach is narrowing. He said its quite common and easy to fix. He also said that he would put it down as an urgent appointment because I'm being so sick all the time.

I got the appointment this morning for the 16th of this month so guess I'll have to struggle on for a few days more. He did say that they would stretch it there and then and it should sort things out, so its not so bad I suppose.

I'm also going to the doctors in the morning to have an injection to try and help me stop me being sick in case its a reflex problem.

Went to Wicksteed Park yesterday with my family, had a brilliant day, but boy is it a long way around that park. I even took a row boat out onto the lake for an hour and insisted on rowing myself. I'm aching a bit today but its a nice sort of ache, especially after getting on the scales this morning in Boots. I've lost another 2kgs since Fri, Brilliant isn't it.

Just wanted to let you know I had a call from Thats life Magazine this morning. They are running the story in the Sept 11th issue.

Have a great day.
