Hmmmmm. I have just had a nice hot bath (admittedly the first one since the op three weeks ago - fear not I have showered since!!)

My port scar has opened slightly in one place (only 1mm or so - tiny!) but yellow stuff came oozing out and once I got out of the bath I had a little prod (as you do!!) and got even more yellow gunk out.

No smell, no redness, no soreness, I feel well and no signs of infection but not sure it should have happened!! I will ring my specialist nurse in the morning, but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or am I just weird??

Well, I am just odd!!! That is my conclusion!! Have just spoken to the specialist nurse and explained my oozing from last night. She thinks there was probably just a little pocket of gunge under that part of my scar and as it seems ok today she is happy to see how it goes for now. She knows that I am an ex-nurse so fully aware of the signs of infection to look out for and as I don't seem to be displaying any other symptoms she is happy to leave me to it. The monthly support meeting that they run is on tomorrow night so she will check it for me then just to make sure all is ok but it seems a bit of a random mystery (that is me all over!!)

must be like the pocket of blood I had under one of mine, that bled out recently. hope it was just a one off!

Had it all checked out thanks Shell - popped to the duty doc as it was oozing again - just harmless serous fluid apparently. No sign of infection and no need to panic!! Felt like a bit of a fool but would rather go and it be nothing than something i should have gone for and didn't. Alls well ends well x

Just wanted to say sorry I didn't reply to your thread! I've been so busy recently with going back to work etc - I've just had no time to catch up with everyone.

Glad your wound is ok and it's just serous fluid leaking. Expose it to air as much as possible to give it a chance to sort itself out.
