Banders Daily Diet and Exercise Log

I'm eating easy foods at the moment cos I'm at work from 1.30- midnight and really worried about trying something new at work and being sick (like I was yesterday).
The real test will be this weekend when I'm off. Xx

B - 2 ryvitas, cream cheese and peanut butter
S - mullerlight yoghurt
L - nut roast, salad, satsuma
S - latte coffee
D - glass of port, chicken tikka skewers, vegetables

Can anyone tell me, do they struggle to eat broccoli ... chewed well, I thought, but PB'd on it :( Had to almost handbrake stop the car on way back from pub, to set that broccoli free...so embarrassing

Yes I struggle with those little green trees too - I like all veg under cooked but that now rules out brocoli and cooked peppers for me! x

Not tried it as not my favourite veg but have read its a toughie! You're as bad as me with my toast on the m1 hard shoulder couple of weeks back! I've since put some sandwich bags in the car...just in case!!!! X

I've just made a hot salad- rocket salad with small amount of fried bacon lardons, fried pears, fried peppers and onions mixed with some chopped walnuts, parmesan shavings and parma ham with balsamic vinegar as the dressing. It was absolutely the best salad I've ever eaten. Fat content was quite low as I drained the fat off the bacon and fried everything else in what was left and then use the balsamic at the end. The pears were fab and the whole family loved it! They had a chunk of ciabatta but I resisted. Felt full after a side plate portion!

Oh that's sounds lush!!! Will try it soon xxx

I tried to eat a mussel tonight at a buffet.....had to spit it out!! Haha...it just would not chew down...it was like a bit of fishy bouncy rubber & I thought I'm not swallowing that!!! Banders beware!

A tad healthier than my pack of haribos however...that went down far too easily..why did I buy them..grrrr!

Haribos lush / Mussels yuck. Mrs P - sometimes eating healthy is not good for us LOL.

It took me half an hour to eat my mullerlight yoghurt this morning - which normally can go down in 5 minutes. Reckon my Band is a bloke - temperamental in the morning.

My OH is sat on the sofa and should be very happy watching footie from 6 till 9.30 and he is still managing to moan about his man flu as though he is the only man in the world who has ever been ill. Temperamental in the evening too. Unlike my lovely band.

Ah ah that's funny flutterby abour your OH

I'm the same flutterby (as I found out this morning). I ate a whole tuna wrap last night with no problem. Tried a crisp bread with laughing cow light this morning (which melts in the mouth) and I was sick!!
Soooooo strange! Xx

I agree...my band is hard to predict...for instance...tonight I ate some salad with some smoked trout (yum) ..went down no bother & then had a pot of mandarin oranges in juice & they took forever to go through! I really wouldn't have thought they had a lot more 'structure' than salad but it felt like it. I wonder if it could've been that they were really cold as they'd been in the fridge?

Humm, maybe. Who knows! Lol
I just had another wrap - a chicken fajita this time. Had a few bites and got restriction pain, so took the chicken and veg out and ate that fine. So today I can NOT eat wraps!
This journey is amusing me now! Xx

Just found this thread and thought we should bring it back to life!

Firstly though what does PB stand for?? think it's something to do with being sick..........

I'm 10 weeks post op:

Right yesterday:

Brekkie - wholemeal pitta and boiled egg bit of ketchup

Dinner - 2 ryvita, 2 LF cheese triangles, thin ham, cucumber and peppers.

Snack - Special K mini bites

Tea - roast sweet potato (in frylite) and spicy turkey mince (made myself was chopped carrot, onion, corgette, mushrooms, peppers with turkey mince and a jar of spicy tomato sauce, lots of seasoning and chilli)

was still quite dry not too much sauce.

Snack - WW ice cream mini tub

Come on everyone lets see what we all eating x x

PB is productive burping, nice!

Its not exactly the same as being sick, its food from your banded tum coming back up surrounded in digestive juices - mmm

As a result of having too much, something your tum doesnt like, not chewing enough or just generaly being stuck with no where to go.

Yay, well thought! I was posting what i ate on my diary thread sometimes but will post here instead from tonight onwards :) x

Hi topkat I sometimes struggle to get that much protein, how much was in the food you ate yesterday?

I've started to have protein bars for breakfast just to get a head start lol

Ok today wasn't so good... I'm hungry a lot and feel the need to eat often. Sick of mushies also, need real foods and a fill asap :p

Early morning before leaving for work:
Weightwatchers hot choc made with hot water with added skimmed milk (~50ml)

Breakfast:
Ready Brek 30g with 150ml skimmed milk

Lunch:
Dalepack corned beef crispbake + 100g M&S leek and bacon mash

Afternoon:
Vanilla protein bar, can't remember name, from Holland & Barrett (half the size and calories of the choc orange Maximuscle diet bar)

Later in the afternoon:
Crispbread with 15g 0.2%fat cream cheese

Dinner(ish):
2x chicken gyoza (we were on the way driving somewhere, stopped at the new M25 Cobham services and grabbed some bits from the Chozen Noodle Bar, I chewed and chewed and chewed these but it wasn't a good choice... but so yummy lol)

Evening:
Obviously I was hungry when we got home so I had 3 more slices of crispbread with low fat farmhouse pate this time.

Tried crispbread today, it was a nice change but not really crispy, melted once in my mouth.

Overall not a good day. I'm fed up with having stuff full of carbs as they are 'mushy'... everything has potato in it... Can't wait til normal food, only another day to go :)

No exercise today either... lol xxx

Mine wasn't what I planned for either

Breakfast: banana and Greek mullerlight yogurt

Mid morn: large cup of tea with slim milk

Lunch (in pub); jacket potato and 5 bean chilli - we laughed at this cos my 5 beans only ended up as 3 beans on whole plate and a load of spicy tomato sauce! Drink: pure orange, which I only had 3 sips from

Dinner: chicken breast, 5 oven chips and broccoli with gravy

Snack: spoon of peanut butter and ww hot chocolate and mint drink.

Too many carbs again, that's why I think I am feeling hungry a lot of time. :(

Exercise: 20 mins exercise bike and 10 mins resistance training with bands ( hate exercise) :)
