After a crap day at work I read the threads on here and nearly did myself an injury laughing. Thank you - it really cheered me up. Neen that hairy man is my worst nightmare - just makes me want to tie him down and liberally apply wax strips. Sorry but over hairy men are a big turn off for me - and don't even start me on men with hairy backs:yuk:. My apologies to any men with hairy backs who may be reading this.

As for the beefcake - too young - sorry Neen. But Neen - NO TOPLESS MAX BYGRAVES!!!

On a serious note, I am coming to some conclusions about work - done a lot of thinking over the last few days. It is bringing an inner peace and some light at a very dark tunnel. At the weekend I will have made my decision and then I intend to write a long note to the head of my department telling it how I see it. I should have done it a long time ago - may be professional suicide doing it now - but a time comes when you have to stick your head over the parapet and be prepared to have it shot off.

Still making getting some rest a priority so getting into bed soon.

Now I think it is hysteria. I witnessed my boss getting humiliated in front of me not once but three times today. Seeing that crystallised so many things for me. Normally I do not take pleasure in seeing that happen to people - but with Ming Ellen I make a big exception;).

Neen- I think you do a wonderfull job with the beefcake. Cant suit everyone. I like hairy men. maybe not that hairy bit like a lumberjack sort of hairy, or a bear!!!! hehehe, with a beard like the beejees, but I am a total oddball so that probably explains it.

So what are you trying this week as I dont think this low calorie thing does much for me at all. Dropped my calories down even more last week with no results. not decided what to do from here though. Still got another fil next week as I can still eat a good amount of food. She only put .5 of a ml in last time though and seemed a bit reluctant to do that so I hope she will do it. I can probably eat what I would say a normal person would eat, probably half of what i would of had pre-band but still not a small amount. I probably have about the same size tea as my bird like 12 year old daughters. How can I not loose weight going from eating like a pig to this though. ont understand.

Not moaning, just wondering.

Leesh I hope Neen will be able to give you some advice on calorie intake - she is a guru on these things. Sounds like you need a bit more in your band. Are you feeling any restriction?

Hi Leesh, I wouldn't drop your calories!
How many per day have you been having?
You could have about 1400 to 1600 and still be fine...if you look at your current weight and the recommendations for calories on plenty of net resources it's pretty generous allowance. Banders can sometimes have trouble getting enough good nutritional stuff down but also if you exercise like crazy and not eat hardly anything, then as soon as you do eat anything, your poor body is going to put it straight to storage because as far as it knows, your dying of starvation on a desert island with what you're putting it through!
I had pretty good results on 1200-1400 daily with mainly a sedentary day (ashamed to say) and a minimum of 30/40 mins brisk walk..low fat, high protein, low sugar, salt and carbs. Also trying to drink a lot more water and not too much caffeine in drinks.
It's important to do some reasonable exercise every day. Like a 45 minute walk daily building up to two a day.
I bought the Steve Miller book a couple years ago, and was doing 2 45 min walks a day on the treadmill and lost 9lbs in the first week.
Wish I could repeat that!
Cutting out as many carbs as possible helped me before, this week I am dropping spuds, pasta, bread (not that I have a huge amount) and sugar as much as I can to try and help bump me out of my rut.
Also as carbs job is to release energy you want to be having them early in the day but not necessarily after lunch time as you want to be encouraging your body to use up it's energy stores (eg the wobbly bits) From what I've seen working for people this seems to make sense to me.
I have a roast turkey to do this weekend so I will try and be good this week and then straight back to low carb after the weekend again.

I am still calorie counting as well as low carbing this week, but if it works I might just low carb and not worry so much about calories.
I did really well on the Atkins diet a few years ago but put it back on when I changed the rules to accomodate my complusive eating streak.
With a band, eating tons of protein and veg is a lot easier to stick to because they are doubly filling and kill cravings dead.
It's just a bit tricky at the beginning toughing out the carb/sugar withdrawals.
This time I will just be doing it without the cream and butter and too much high fat cheese....:)cry:)

Anyway, I also have a nice exercise bike coming today thanks to amazon having some on half price!
So I hope to bump up my exercise as well as I am a big procrastinator in that department xxx

As for age, I am 49 in a few months. My goal is to be the new me when I hit the big one next August:D.

Right better get back to work - love doing work days at home - reduces the stress considerably:rolleyes:.

I'm 37.

Note to self, never again think that it's ok to bake cheese scones with your client, 3 scones later and I'm a piggy, but in my defense they are delicious!! I also realise that by refer to my lady as a client I sound like a pro, eek!!
