BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Hi everyone... its nice to see a lot of chat on this thread tonight :)
Thankfully I'm through the 'change' now and don't get periods any more (I'm 53 and a half and I've had 3 periods in 2 years, the last one about 15months ago) but I still get that feeling like it might happen....like I get a bit bloated and sore boobs and spots!! But then nothing happens and it goes away again so I guess its my body trying to do something and then giving up!! haha. Oh the trials of ageing eh!
I've started the gym.woo hoo.... I don't get hungry at all when I exercise ( sorry Mazza).. it seems to work the other way with me. I did 40 minutes cardio work on 3 machines and quite enjoyed it although one of them called a Vario machine was a very strange rhythm to it and I felt a bit silly! Won't get back there until Friday now but its a start.

Hello to all you newbies. I hope you find some support if you need it. :)

Anyway, I'm off to colour my hair! Bought some pink rinse to brighten my already purple striped hair! I'm not growing old gracefully!

Oh no I dont mean when Im exercising its the next day that I feel hungrier and I have to eat more. Obviously I need to as I dont often feel hunger :D

A vario machine, hmm whats that then? Glad you enjoyed it though and it is indeed a start ;)

Aaah- I see. I suppose it makes sense that your body wants to react to your exercising and feed itself because you won't have many reserves now!
A Vario machine, I'm told is the new cross trainer. I can't describe it. Its very odd... the rhythm is wierd.

Ooh looks good! have they given you a workout to do or are you doing your own thing?

Spinning again for me tomorrow, night off tonight though ;)

Will be working away for at least 2 nights next week and the week after so will have to find a hotel with a gym!

Yep- I've got a workout programme. 40 mins cardio- 10 walking, 10 xtrainer,10 vario, 10 cycling. All interval training ( ie up and down in intensity!) There is a lot of variety to start cos I get a bit bored although these new machines have an ipod port and a flashdrive usb port so I'm taking a couple of tv programmes I'm watching just now to keep my brain occupied :) and loads of music. :)
Enjoy your trips away- hotels are always more exciting if its not for work aren't they!

They are indeed! would rather be at home though, miss my houndies, cats and more importantly my daughter...........

Haha
This is so funny x x
Hope you managed to get home and back without problem or a car accident. My gosh what would they say in a and e if you rolled in with no pants or bra on :)

haha Rache- thats hilarious. I couldn't do that...I walk around all day and I'm up and down a ladder too- not a pleasant thought actually!

I've had a terrible day today. Family problems and I started eating chocolate! I don't think I'll ever sort that one out. I suppose I should just accept it and move on really because I can't help it. Especially if I'm at work because I can't find a coping mechanism which works in a short space of time!!Ach well... tomorrow is another day!

Sorry you had a bad day, hope things are sorted now x

I had my first crisis when I was on liquids so I had no choice but find an alternative to chocolate or a glass of wine. Now I either go for a walk, listen to some music or have a bath - not all practical whilst at work! x

Thanks Bd & Mazza. Crisis is past but leaves a bit of 'fall-out' if you know what I mean. Not a great day foodwise again but I'll just have to live with it I Spose! Anyhoo, have a good weekend everyone ...I'm off to 2 parties this weekend so I'm stuffed already! Cu next week banders Xx

Evening all. For Mrs P:hug99: - keep the faith.

Well my fill last week has been playing havoc. I am over the visit from Aunt Flo and hope it was just a pop in rather than a regular occurrence:D. I started mushies and have been sick every time I have had anything so back to the liquids. I am determined to adjust to this fill and not panic with it. It is the most restriction I have ever felt and if I can stick with it I can see it making all the difference. I can take liquids if I sip slowly and I think I ate too fast hence the sickness...so I need to take things very slowly. I am over tired and stressed too so that is having an impact. My hernia seems to be getting bigger by the day and I am keeping an eye on that. Having said all that I feel very positive. My blood pressure seems to be stabilising on the new meds. Just need to get back into some exercise again.

The snow has come in my part of the world and I am glad I have Monday off. Going to chill with Mr TB - seems ages since we have been able to do that;).

Enjoy the rest of the weekend all:).

Evening all. Just checking in:D. So far I have got through my first day on mushies without being sick. This fill may well be the one. I have noticed the runny nose - to signify my body has had enough has returned which is great. I know not to push it beyond that point. I have felt full on what I have had. I am struggling with water as always but I am just sipping it as best I can between the mushed food.

I ended up working for most of the day again today - we have a big thing on at work. I claimed my Friday holiday back and if I end up working tomorrow I will be claiming that back too. Before I would have let it go but not now. Not sure how I am going to cram in what I have left before the end of March though:rolleyes:

Happy Sunday evening (what is left of it) everyone:)

Hi Daisy and welcome to the thread. I had my band 14 months ago. If you get time read back on my posts rather than me going through the whole saga:D

It has not been an easy journey but it has been life changing for me. I am enjoying taking the scenic journey - it will take a long time to get to where I want to be but as long as I get there I do not mind how long it takes.

You will get lots of support here from your fellow bandits. Please ask if you have a question - someone will be able to answer. Everyone will have a different experience. Follow the guidelines you have been given by your provider and you will be fine.

Hi folks.
Well, I've been to my two birthday parties. I was not in the least bit careful- I drank champagne nearly all weekend and had two large meals with puddings - and it was yum. Had a great time. ...and I put on 1/2lb!! Now figure that out! Its got to be a fluid thing again- I put on 4lbs last week with just some chocolate and then just that silly 1/2lb with massive feasts!! Wierd!
Back onto dieting today- don't feel hungry at all. My body is basking in a sea of calories!
Got a day off today- going to chill this morning, gym this afternoon and then I'm going to put a lilac rinse in my grey hair!! (sounds strange but is very nice) Feeling better today and like Tranquil, I don't care how long this takes- I just know I'll get there. Thats a huge shift in my temperament because its so powerful :)

Daisy, you will love it. Its the best thing EVER!!
TB- its funny you get that runny nose thing- I get a sort of soft hiccup when I've had enough. Aren't bodies strange!

Anyhoo, have a lovely day everyone- we have beautiful weather up here in Scotland- and NO SNOW yee haaaa!

I get a point on my side like I just ran for England. We are all different but sharing the journey xxx
