BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Nice to see you back Neen, I missed you.

TB are you able to have scrambled eggs at the puree stage? How about pureed apple and pear (I love them), they'd go down well with some custard. Someone had mentioned that corned beef is nice pureed with potato.

I must have done too much yesterday as I felt quite poorly this morning. So I've had a lazy day today, thankfully my son has been a wee angel. My diet seems to slightly differ from others on here, I'm on a liquid diet, but that includes soup, weetabix and porridge as well as icecream. But I'm having a problem with savoury food smelling/tasting rank (however, my fav ever recipe of carrot and sourcream soup has gone down well tonight) so I'm mostly sticking to cereal.

I hope everyone has had a fab weekend xx

Hiya everyone thought I would introduce myself I'm new to wls forum but have been hanging around minimums since July 09 since that time I have lost 3 stone with lipotrim put it back on stayed the same for 6 weeks on weight watchers and lost and gained the same 5 lb with slimming world. Have struggled to lose weight and keep it off for the last 11 years but would say I have been conscious of my weight since I was about 13 problem being I'm a twin and my sister was always abnormally thin and I was normal weight but of course I was called fat and bullied because of it. :( have also tried appetite suppressants ( lost 2.5 stone and put it back on) and xenical which did not work for me:( I have two beautiful daughters 11 and a half and almost two.:) I have been researching a gastric band and wanting one for a long while now and have finally gone and booked it. I can honestly say this is the first time In 14 years that I'm doing something completely for me!! Which I hope doesn't sound selfish. My date is 30th December at dolan park!! Can't wait to get it done and start losing this weight!! Sorry for long post

Hi Jo and :welcome2:to our little band of banders!

They are a great friendly helpful and supportive bunch on here, so if you need to ask anything at all - don`t be shy!

I had my band fitted at Dolan Park a couple of months ago by Paul Super. I was very happy with the treatment I received there and also the follow up regarding the dietician and band fill support.

If you need any help that I could guide you with just ask!

Take care hun x

Love and Best Wishes Kat x

Hi kat thanks for the lovely welcome glad you had a good experience at dolan park some posts have not been the best tbh!! I'm sure I will have some questions day by day especially as the nerves mount!! Must say I'm not looking forward to going alone in the transport on the morning of surgery but OH has to stay with kids til later in the day and then he's gonna drive up stay in hotel over night and drive me home :) can't wait to start losing weight!! :)

Hi Jo, this is a lovely bunch of people, I'm sure you'll feel very welcome.

I don't think you're selfish to have this op, just think of the benefits our kiddies will reap with our increased energy levels, also by watching us eat a healthy diet will educate them. Infact I think think I've just convinced myself that this is purely for my sons benefit hehe!!

I hope the next 9 days fly over, I'm sure they will with the xmas celebrations.

Take care xx

Hello - Lil (soon to be lil) bander sneaking in through the back door :)

2 days post op and feeling up down and tired but cant sleep lol

Hope the banders are having a stressfree christmas prep period  Yeah right! Is there such a thing as a stress free christmas when you are a wife and a mother! I dont think so :D Have a brill time though (HUG) XX

Morning all, how is everyone?
Rache did you get your fill, how did it go?
Tif, how're you feeling, are you managing to rest up?
I hope everyone is well and getting ready for xmas.

I'm 8 days post op and feel great, apart from tiring easy and sometimes getting a tugging around my port. I spoke to the hosp and insurance company about driving, the hospital said it was a grey area, but she thought I should maybe give it a couple more days, the ins company (Churchill) said they go along with the dr's advice. I was going to pop to asda this morning but decided against it as I have to drive over 13 large speed bumps to get out of my estate and once I got their I'd had to carry my shopping bags, which I don't think is a good idea. So it's another easy day for me :)

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all the banders on the site.
I hope you all have a great time and manage food however you want to play it - whether thats having a few days off or sticking to the rules and hoping to lose even though its Xmas.
I haven't decided which way I'm going to play it yet just taking one day at a time and i'm not going to feel bad whatever I choose to do.
Good luck to you all and I hope you have a great time

Nice to hear from Neen too happy christmas flower xx

Well had third fill two days ago and can feel a massive difference this time it's great. Hardest part is getting enough fluids down me, it's rreally tight (which is great) took me two hours this morning to drink a large glass of sf squash!! Had some veeeery sloppy porridge for brekkie and now stuffed :) I'm really looking forward to losing this christmas instead of gaining as ever!!
And to top it all off I was given the Biggest Loser Wii game for my birthday wooooohoooooo there's no stopping this girl !!!

A very happy christmas to you all and I hope it brings you all the joy and comfort you could ask for xxxxxx

Hi Rache

Sounds like this fill could be the one! Have fun on your wii game x

Merry Christmas to you and your girls too x

Hi all, Jo I hope you also have a fab chrimbo, wether you decide to let your hair down or not. Rache, that fill sounds great, I hope this is the 'one' for you, and you're a lucky lady getting the WII game. Mazza, I now know what you do for a living :p lol, I hope that doesn't mean you'll now have to kill me hehe!!

I hope everyone has an amazing chrimbo, we've already had chocolates as gifts, so I've made hubby hide them away and eat them on the quiet so I can't have any! Take care xx
