Oh topsy i hope things get better for you soon, it's so strange how were all so different, i wander if it's us or our surgeons that make the difference. Theres nothing i cant eat and still love food my only difference is the quantity.

Hiiya - I have days where I am down, and previously used food to comfort me, and still do to an extent. Instead of having a shed load of chocolate and 8 packs of crisps...I have a teeny nibble of dark choc or diabetic choc etc.
There is nothing but rice I cant eat and I dont miss it as I dont like it anyway! Everything is in moderation now and when I do have cheeky foods...its as a treat rather than an everyday thing.
I dont believe that the support we receive post op is great, but I have been very lucky in having post oppers around on here and at our support group meeting.
I feel very strongly that it is important to attend a support group meeting to hear, talk and take advice from others. Use the meetings threads to join one already running, or set one up in your area!

Thanks for starting this thread and to everyone that posts. I am due to have my op in five weeks and it is very important to me to hear people's experience, good and bad as I want to be as prepared as I possibly can for the upheaval ahead.

I dont mean to belittle anyone's struggles on here but I find it very comforting to know that there has been on major regrets of majoring suffering post op. From what I read it seems that the worst is for a few weeks or a couple of months (with a few exceptions, which I am sorry to hear about) and then life gets dramatically different.

Thanks again to everyone for posting and good luck to those who are still suffering post op...I hope life improves soon
