.... thought I would give a little reminder to all of us out there who are about to embark on pre op diet / surgery / or even post surgery, not to forget to take "before" measurements. :) it will be lovely to see inches coming off, particularly in those moments when the scales may not be telling you what you want to see

Just another little non scale victory to keep us all going!

best wishes everyone! especially all of us who have surgery looming this month :D woo hoo!!!

I forgot to do mine pre op  I know I have lost inches cos my clothes say so but no idea how many ... silly sausage, lol xxx :D

Got weighed yesterday to log that but keep forgetting about the measurements. So thanks for that.

I am already checking the mirror out to see any difference and only been on the pre op diet 2 days lol

Have not got a tape measure long enough

Stick a piece of string on the end of the measure, and add that separately. For my first measurement 6 stones ago, I was onto to the end of the tape measure where the inches weren't even marked on, but now it's all fine.

I do my measurements every stone, on a new sheet of paper so I can't see the previous measurements before I write the new ones down - it's been down every time, and so gratifying, because even if at first your clothes don't feel any different (because they are easy fit / elasticated) the inches lost confirms your changing shape.

Even if you are part-way through your weight loss journey, if you haven't measured yet, do it today. It's as good a feeling seeing the numbers fall, as it is to see the scales going in the right direction.

Good thread lynne.

I didn't do mine either and I wish I had...I know I'm getting smaller but not sure by how much

I have kept my largest bra....could easily house several families of squirrels:0 and a pair of trousers and top. Im hoping that one day I'll be half the size and fit in one leg!!! you know like you see in all those weight loss magazines!!

I didn't take mine. I'm still happy with the decision not to and I didn't keep any 'fat' clothes either. I kept one dress but decided a couple of months into the weight loss that I just didnt need it hanging around, I have enough memories in my head of being fat without having monsters in the form of old dresses and bras and lists of ugly mahoosive measurements lying around waiting to haunt me.
Im happy to just keep fitting into smaller clothes and knowing that I am getting slimmer and healthier. I know where you are all coming from though and I find it inspiring when I see people showing the clothes they used to fit into, its just not right for me.
