Endoscopy !!!!

Who had to have one of these, I notice a few on here has mentioned endoscopy before op, do everyone have one?

I didn't have one before my operation, if they did one whilst I was under I couldn't say.

I went for my echo and there was a lady waiting for one, hope I dont have to as Iv had one before and hate them!!1

arghhh i hope i dont have to have one. i watched my mum have one awake it was horrible, wish i hadnt have volunteered to go in with her. was only aloud to as i knew the surgeon, wish i didnt as its well and truely put me off.
they will have to knock me out if i need one or im not doing it SIMPLES lol xx

well the surgeons that insist on it wont do your op without it x

It is standard practice at Sunderland I think, so nearly everyone has one.

I had one last year at York and they used some throat spray, it was awful, it seemed to take ages and I gagged for England!! I also had one at Turnov, without anything!! I think if I had insisted I could have had anesthetic but it was so quick, only enough time to go down, have a quick look and back out just as I was thinking this is horrible lol. So even though it wasnt nice, it was quick and not too bad really, better than York anyway! I think they like you awake if poss so you can swallow it down, but it's much nicer to be knocked out!!

I had one a spray to the throat the next thing I woke up in my room, so glad for the sedative as I would,have hated it.. X

Oh well just have to face it if & when it comes I suppose, but be sure I will do everything to get out of it! if I can
