Help old timers?!!?

Something odd is going on with my milk diet !!! I lost weight very quickly n my liver must have booted out so much fat n impurities. Great to detox. in a week I had lost 17.5 lbs. I'd gone from 19.5 to 18.2 Then by 2weeks gone to 17.12,5. So just over 20lbs Now I'm still strictly on same diet and weighing back up to 18.1.5 . Naked as always , same scales and in early morning. How can I have put 3lbs on in a week after following the milk diet??????? Very confused. I can only think my body has gone into survival mode n turning everything into fat. I'm the one who puts weight on with weight watchers on having the minimal points Peed off big time as have to see surgeon Monday . Obviously will be asking them, but they will think I've been cheating and I haven't! Any ideas xxx previous bander, now awaiting by pass or sleeve this year.

Constipated? Fluid retention? I remember being really constipated on my preop. Any how the preop isn't about how much weight you can lose. It's about shrinking your liver to make the op easier on you and for the surgeon ;). Stick rigidly to your pre op hun and you will be just fine.

Thanks frankie. I'm on milk diet to lose 5% which I did in a week but stayed on it incase they can find a space to operate on me very soon. Ill know Monday. We're all hoping due to my difficult timescale that I can be operated on v soon. Just hope they don't think I'm noshing, cos I'm not :(

The dietician put you on preop but when you have no planned op date?

This hhappened to me too, its your body fighting back. It will come off again but that's why its four weeks.

Its not bout weight loss its bout shrinking ya liver that's just a good side effect losing the weight xx

I'm going abroad in April so they are trying to find a slot for me, otherwise I'm having to wait till the summer n that's a looooong time when everything is sorted bar date. Fingers crossed they find me a slot or ill be on the reducing one after Monday if not frankie.

As Chrisa says, the LSD is just that. Not about weight loss. Personally I would not tell my surgeon I'd put weight on as it is kind of irrelevant ... As you may have gone down rapidly and come up a bit but are still less than you were. If you see what I'm saying - why complicate it for yourself. They will come to their conclusion, regardless of what you tell them

I think there is a little misunderstanding here. My hospital l&d require you to follow the milk diet for two weeks preop in as normal. However they will not give you a date until you have followed the milk diet for 4 weeks in order to lose the 5% you have to lose to even get the godhead for the op. So this is about weightloss and not liver shrink. I will add, and I know you don't want to hear this, but I don't particularly see why you feel you don't have to do the four weeks the same as any other preop. It sucks but that's life.

I am still doing it. Still doing the four weeks, maybe more! Im almost at three weeks now. If it wasn't for my hols in april and knee operation on Tuesday, I would be seeing him on the 3rd feb. I was told to ring them once lost my 5%, this I did after a week. They nor I want to wait till the summer as I had my band out due to NHS cock up. I've put loads of weight back on as a result and were all keen to stop the rot. If it wasn't for NHS mistake I'd still happily be with my band where I went through hell and had to pay for it :( so that's why they r trying to get me sorted. It's not that I think I'm above others Hun.

2nd timer the LSD is not sustainable. You could end up doing yourself more harm than good. I tried to go back on it in order to speed up my slowing weightloss. I followed my diet sheet almost to the letter allowing myself a very small lean meal in the early evening. I thought it was a good idea but it backfired on me big style as I gained a 3/4 stone in less than a week and earned a very strict telling off from my team. I am still in the process of trying to lose that gain :(.
I also hoped that because I had been on such a drastic reducing diet for six months prior to my op and had lost nearly 9stone that I wouldn't need to do the LSD but sorry there was no escaping it.
Not trying to dampen your hopes & spirit. I truly hope you get your op quick but I'm worried that if things do go slower than you anticipate that you 1: make yourself ill or 2:find yourself having to revert to a reducing diet and then finding yourself in a gain situation as you body tries to find its equilibrium again.

Well! Full day out with the family at the zoo. Didn't sit down once so walked around for 4-5 hours and then came home, bathed 3 kids, cooked dinner, put them to bed.

How different my life is. 8 weeks ago I was sleeping on the sofa half of the day and complaining if my partner asked me to go to the shop!!

Very happy :)

Ceecie fantastic NSV hun. It's these moments and days that make it all so worthwhile :D
