Here I go... or as I like to call it, 'I'm officially turning into a Snack A Jack'

Right, I am returning to work tonight... :hide:

Little nervous as it's been 7 weeks since I last stepped foot in the hostel and I have a lot to catch up on - I shall be reading files and daybooks for the next week or two :giggle:

I know I will be tired and sore, so have my analgesics to hand and will take things easy :)

Ols have i missed something or have you been off for the 7 weeks because of yr bypass. you also mentioned being sore and still needing painkillers again is thet down to the bypass or something else.

Im asking because im self employed and really cant afford to take that long off.

Hope you dont mind me asking.

HC I went back to work after 2 1/2 weeks ;) I have 3 chronic pain causing conditions and have only had 1 lot of painkillers since coming out of hospital. Different people react in different ways.

Very true, we are all different... not everyone goes back to work so soon, and not everyone waits so long to go back. However, a few people I know personally have waited 6 weeks before returning to work, so I'm normal... for a change!!! :p

I work at a homeless hostel and it's a very physical job at times... I have to be careful, and if I get knocked or attacked, it's not good at the best of times, but certainly not post-op!!! I was not covered by insurance until I was cleared to work.

However, I returned to work on Saturday night, but started to feel pain and couldn't keep anything down (even water) so went and had bloods done. Shaw called me and told me I need to go to A&E if it didn't settle within a few hours, but luckily the medicine he told me to get did the job and I slept for 6 hours!!! Woke up, had a sip of water and felt ok, so panic over!!!

Saw my GP this morning and bloods etc are normal and I feel a lot better :) Met a close friend yesterday and had a lovely chat, so that cheered me up no end - she also had a GB, so know's where I'm coming from.

Looking forward to returning to work this Sunday... :D

Nothing to do with the bypass... purely because of my weight and the stress it puts on my back and knees/hips :)

However, I haven't had painkillers in days... so, not only am I fitting into clothes I have never been able to wear for years, I'm no longer sore!!! :D

You have all of this to look forward to, HC... ;)

Just uploaded the pics...

Finally uploaded the pics I took last week - had a fab meet-up with two other members of Shaw's Girls at Gunwarf Quays... we had an absolutely wonderful time, and it's so good to see the girls looking slimmer and more energetic :)

Shame Ally couldn't make it :sigh:

However, we will get hold of her soon... then the gang is complete!!!
