Ah thanks, haven't a clue how to use this site but it looks like a must to get help and support. Will have to get the kids to help me! Have you had your op, how are you doin with it all?

Hi There

I wasnt at the same hospital your going to be....but im here if you need any questions answered.

Theres so much information and support on this site....have a look round, get used to looking in the gastric band section too...to be more specific to your surgery.

And good luck x

I had the bypass and they say recovery takes about 6 weeks. I work from home so I'm able to do 2-3 hours a day at the moment before I feel tired.

It might be an idea to do a stepped return to work, so you only go back for a few hours each day for the first week back, then a few extra hours and so on.

hi,they dont do any pre op diets at my hospital so i get to eat upto midnight the night before,im bricking it to be honest lol xxx

Hi Tracy 84 are u band or bypass ? Well I can only spk for the banders but I'm the biggest chicken going , I won't even have my ears pierced a second time coz it hurts lol , it's not half as bad as you expect really I swear to be honest the trapped wind is the worst thing hope this helps xx

Hiya. I'm in Bromley too and had my band fitted about 8 weeks ago. I'm still getting used to it but it's the best decision I ever made. Just wanted to say hi and good luck. :D

Ah thanks, so have you had a fill yet? What surgeon did you have and are you feeling recovered from the actual op yet. Soz for so many questions but don't think I really know very much about it all ?

Had my first fill last week and it was fine. It was actually a lot quicker and less painful than I had thought. My surgeon was mr el hasani, who have you got?
I don't know what other people's experiences have been but I was pretty much fine the day after the op. the only discomfort I had was from the gas that they used to inflate my belly, but that was nothing really.
Hope this helps a bit. X
