It does, really glad to hear you were on the mend so quick! I've got mr el hassani as well. Want to find out as much as I can but am havin a job using this site as me and IT don't go well together. Did you have the consume soup pre op diet?
 
Mr el hasini likes too use the low carb diet as he has just done my band , u will have something like 2 boiled eggs chicken or white fish and 3 sml bits fruit a day no milk etc but u can have a chick oxo or the likes hope this helps xx
 
Sounds delish lol? how are you feelin, have you got to have injections, am a bit confused about whether everyone has them or not!!
 
I'm not too bad to be honest the worst part is the trapped wind , and yes I do have the injections I have to do them for 6 days there not to bad I did mine myself this morning I know it sound strange but they do show you how too do them before u go home , be prepared to rest up I thought I'd be hitting the shops by now but sadly not lol xxx any questions pls feel free to ask xx
 
At the end of my six weeks recovery I'm hoping to start going to the gym. I was wondering if any other bromleyites would like to do a WLS fitness club, like going to the pavilian gym for half an hour then a swim

I'm on them for 30 days (got 7 left) Clexane is a blood thinner to stop clots that could happen after surgery and cause embolisms and other bad things.
 
Oh ok, not sure bout doin them myself tho ... Yuk. Still if it helps me to achieve my goal then suppose its gotta be done. Swimming at pavilion sounds good. X
 
I can't wait til I'm able to swim.. got to wait 6 weeks (well 3 now) at least.

They're not too bad once you get used to them. You're at Chelsfield? Sheila will teach you. Around the belly button area, move it to a new spot so it doesn't get too sore. You will bruise (downside of thin blood) and you will need to move it out a bit from close to the belly button.

The injection only pricks a little when the needle goes in, sometimes you can feel the liquid going in, and it stings for about 5 mins. The first week though, will feel like it stings for half an hour. Once you get used to it it's in, squeeze, out, throw it into the sharps bin.
 
No it's a very thin needle and it comes in a platic ready to go thing , very easy I just did mine now and I'm the biggest chicken going , I'm sure you ll be fine xx

Hi I'm having my band with mr el-hasani I have my pre op diet sheet already and was looking at it the other day? How long did you go on the pre op diet for? I have a long list of questions for you if it's ok.

Hi I am also with mr el-hasini and have been looking at the diet sheet. If it's ok could I ask you a whole list of questions I have?
 
When are you having yours done? I will keep reading the thread so I can see all the questions and answers about the diet ?

Have you already had your surgery?
I was told it would be august September time.
But I'd like to know about the build up.
How long before your date was you told?
Did you have to go to hospital before going on pre op diet?
Was you told over the phone or in a letter?
Do you have to have those injections after surgery?
Do you have to take iron liquid after? so many questions I can't remember half of them when I do I will ask if that's ok.
Did you think about the op constantly and get on peoples nerves I think I am and do.
Do you or did you go through mixed feelings. How can you go from being excited to terrified in minutes.
 
Ladies you are very normal , I have drove everyone mad it's all I've spoke about , here goes I tell my story and try to answer your questions x I decided I wanted a band about 8 months ago but could raise the funds due to hubby being made redundant anyway, we recently Had the funds become available , so between going to consultation and op I only had 10 days to wait , in between time I drove everyone mad talking about it going from being very excited to terrified , I hAd my band done on Saturday morning went in on Friday night , kept myself as busy as possible, wiz bricking it when I walked down to op but by that stage I knew it woz to late I woz having it done , next thing woke up in a bit of pain not to bad , first day just dozed next day I woz up and about then suddenly thought omg wot have I done must say I felt quiet low sounds very strange but I know now this is quiet normal :) , the worst part is the wind pain other then that it is just uncomfortable I'm now on slim fast and soups and I'm up and about not doing to much mind as it feels like I've done a million situps lol ,your mind will be in overdrive right now but try not to worry to much it isn't half as bad as you think any more questions feel free to ask ps as with regards to vitamins I just take a chewable version and no I don't take extra iron x
 
And yes I am on the injections there very easy to do , you will be shown how to do them not half as bad as you think xx
 
I was left some money and decided to use it for the op as I have done every diet under the sun and still am overweight. I arranged it for end of June and can't wait but am scared also. Not really scared of actual op, just managing afterwards and getting everything right as I so don't want to fail again! It seems there's so much you have to know like diets, liquids then mush, injections, fills....... I need a manual ?
