Hi, I'm Kirsty, banded August 2014. My post op dairy

Such a difference Kirsty.

I'm intrigued - how tall are you?

I know I keep saying the same thing Kirsty, but you don't look like the same person. You are doing really well.

Hahaha! Wine and crisps on the photo too!! Brilliant!
The difference is amazing you must be pleased! I'm away at the weekend so might get a photo of me now! I'm still seeing a fat person even at 10st 2lb!!!

Wine and crisps were and I never parted for long Karina lol

Can't wait to see the photos babe. You looked gorgeous even in you pre op photos

You will be stunning now

Oh BTW I had a wee sneaky jump on the scales this morning (naughty I know) and......... 12st 6 and 3/4....yay! One goal reached. Now under 12 and a half stone

I only have 3/4 of a pound till I have lost three stone :)

its hard though, i am so so tempted and this week i jumped on them on wednesday... huge mistake as i was showing a 1.5 lbs loss and was really disappointed buuuut, when i got ib Sat things had shifted.. so the moral of my story is i must lose near the end of several days reduced intake rather than daily. i once had a slimming world 'teacher' who advised lots of people are like that, that the scales don't actually move till day seven after seven really good days.

Hi girls. I'm at the van without scales and I'm feeling really fat!

I have not been weighing or logging as per advice from my dietitian. But I am trying too do a rough count in my head. I am worried that I am not staying within 1000 cals. So I am going to go back to logging on MFP tomorrow. I'm feeling a little bit out of control...crazy eh? I'm having thoughts about not being able to loss any more weight. The statistics say that folks only loss half of their excess weight and that's me hit half my target

Will feel better when. Get back home. Going to start on my cross trainer for half an hour each day. Walk the dogs for an hour and try to gym or swim on a Monday and Friday. I think that will make me feel better in my head. Though some days I just can't get the gumption together to move my lardy ass of the couch lol

On a positive note. I was out at Gretna Gateway outlet village. I tried on loads of stuff in Rallph Lauren. And the stuff fitted me...size Large! Not even the XL. I am afraid to say that I bought a navy blazer. It is wearable but a tad neater tha n I would like it to be but the shoulders are nice and neat and I think I could wear it down 2 or three sizes. That is me a 16 in most things now. Which is amazing considering a fortnight ago I was an 18. So if that is me a 16 then the jacket should fit me if I ever get to a 12. Which I would dearly love to do. I wandered about for an hour arguing with myself about spending the money on it. It was half the RRP in the outlet but not on sale. I hate buying stuff without a sale sticker.

I also desperately needed a skirt for work as I am still wearing a 20. I picked up a nice we suit skirt for £15 so was happy I got a sale bargain - size 16

I tried on loads of dresses in Roman Originals. I could get in to all the 16s some fit great, some were a tad neat round the tum area

We have slaters menswear in Glasgow. It's a bit of an institution. I think they may have branched out in some other city's. Most men in the Glasgow area head to slaters if they are looking for a suit. They branched out into woman's work wear but it was not a great success and they stopped selling it. They have a clearance warehouse which opens every last Saturday of each month. On Saturday we went out to get Lindsay a suit and low and behold, the were getting rid of all the woman's stock. It was mostly tiny sizes 6 and 8 the 20+. I did f ind some size 12 suit jackets and blazers. All items were £5 in a final clearance (as I said they are no longer doing woman's clothes). I took three size 12 gorgeous jackets. I figured that at £5 each it was worth the gamble I would get in to them. The price tags for all three were £270

So on top of my Friday boot shopping, I have spent a fortune....all on my credit card :-( I am seriously considering cutting my cards up as I actually think, now I can fit into regular sized clothes, I am becoming a bit compulsive about shopping

So while I am feeling a bit bloated and fat, it was great to try on all the size 16s

I have a Gyn situation and am bleeding constantly. Have been since 12 September. It is normally very light but today has gotten heavier an I have cramp :-( so I think I might be a bit hormonal. I know this is nothing sinister, I am under a professor and have been thoroughly checked out. It is an age thing! But it gets me down a bit

So a big long moan from me...

Night night girlies xx

Hey Kirsty!

That sounds like a great day shopping, or weekend lol!! What a great feeling to get into a 16, and those jackets will give u something to go towards!

I think you will lose more weight, you have the determination to do it!!

When is your next fill? xx

Hi Kirsty
I love it, you are now an OCD shopper!!! You sound to be having a good break! I'm off Friday for a weekend.. Can't wait!
Scales do have their uses when you feel like you have gained weight or it's not moving! I just weigh in once a week now.

Hey Kirsty. Loving the shopping by the way. What was the reasoning behind the dietician saying not to log food?

Sounds like you've had a fantastic weekend Kirsty i think you need to stop the worrying about the weight, trust me once you hit 6, 7, 8 months life gets back to pretty normal and the weight comes secondary to everything else. I think the nurse is right about not logging your cals ..............IF you have reached the sweetspot restriction wise but until that happens we do need to keep a check, its so easy to slip over cal limits and the last thing we need is a gain to hit the skids. So if your feeling out of control log it to keep you on the straight and narrow. I'm sure we'd all love to be at that point of not having to log and allow our bands to do all the hard work for us. SO chin up sweetheart the weight will come off, you've just got to be prepared for the long haul....... but the good thing is now we have our friendly bands we should keep heading forwards not backwards :) x x x xx sorry to hear about your tum troubles nice hot water bottle and get cosy and of course its adding to that puffy feeling :) x x x x huge hugs

Bear, this was what she wants us to work towards. But I came out of the appointment and implemented it straight away.

She thinks that we should move away from the obsession of cals in/out and use the band to let us know when we have had enough. Choose healthy options etc. I guess she wants us to act like 'normal' people around food. This was her first day working with WLS patients. She has been a community dietitian up till now and been working with diabetics.

I must say I was not filled with confidence when she brought out her big WLS book and told me it was her bible lol

She WAS very nice though but I got the impression she did not have any experience with eating disorder issues. It may be that , I for one, can never behave normally around food. So for now I going back to counting and logging my calories on my fitness pall to feel a bit more in control

Ladies thanks for all your support as always xx

Night night

Hey I totally agree i log each day my calories, more so because I can't eat enough of the bloody things! Nearly had 500 today! Right now I can't see me getting to 1000 without using more carbs, protein dense food is like the titanic going down!
But I'm happy, no more bingeing no more eaten out of boredom it's great!

Came home form that van shut it up for the year. Went in the scales this morning. Totally freaked out. Had gained 2lb!!!!!!

Went straight to the sports centre and booked an induction for the gym at 3pm today then headed out for a hard hike with the dogs

Gutted!

Doing really liw carb for the next week to see if I can get a great weight loss next week. I was just a smidgen off a three stone loss now I'm miles away again :-(
