Hi, I'm Kirsty, banded August 2014. My post op dairy

Don't you just hate a slow puncture you never know when your spare tyre will be flat, a bit of a bugger in the care park lol. Have they told you how they will repair it joking aside , will it mean another operation and starting again :(

Need to wait 2 weeks for them to measure the fluid in my band. Nurse thinks a its a slow puncture lol. She thinks if it was a port or tube leak there would be nothing left in my band. I still had 5 of the original 10ml left I am having X-rays done a fortnight today, having my fill level measured and seeing the surgeon. I asked for Sharon's surgeon Mr Gibson as she said he was brilliant How they tell what is in your band is draw everything out it into a large syringe Because I said I had no restriction and was constantly hungry they decided to measure the fill in my band only to find half of what was put in was missing !!!? Hey ho Xxxx

Oh no Kirsty that's awful!!! That may explain why your so hungry all the time! Well hopefully when they fix it you will get to your target in no time!!!

Mr Gibson is fantastic! He will look after you x

I'm just heading to the airport to go home so we will catch up soon to see what's happening x

Mouse I'm trying not to think that far ahead :-(

Awww bless you hun, hope you get sorted.

No wonder it's been hard for you though, you've been trying to do all the hard work yourself, hopefully you'll stop beating yourself up quite so much and go a little easier on yourself x

What a nightmare! I'm sitting in the Nuffield after my fill sipping water after my 5ml fill. Yes that's right 5ml!!!! I have lost 5ml out of my band since February! I have to see a surgeon a fortnight today because they think my band is leaking!!! On to liquids for three days then soft for three days I'm a wee bit worried. Don't want to even think about how they would repair a leaking band :-(

What a bugger .. Hope they get you sorted asap. Hugs and good vibes coming your way. X

I did mean to add on the end of my last comment, I do hope they don't have to put the through that. I really hope there a way to do it without that happening to you. They must have thought about this possibility happening and how they would repair a wrong one. But like you said don't think about it just yet :)

Depending on what they say I have one if those kits where you squirt foam in and it seals the hole...if I squirt some in your port and spin you round I recon I could get you fixed!! Just let me know!!

On a serious note what a total bummer...I've got my fingers crossed for you this next few weeks...how are you feeling after your fill? Any difference?
Is mr Gibson as much eye candy as mr Galloway?? X

Hi Kirsty

Ha ha. I have a new Volvo. Was on Ben venue came back after a few hours hill climb and found a flat. Luckily was climbing with an outdoorsy mate. Just discovered I had no spare....but a foam stuff!!!kinda hoping this is wot they might do lol xx

Oh my goodness! Kirsty......such a nightmare for you. An awful thing to have happened, but I guess some relief that you weren't going crazy with the feeling you could eat more after fills!

So hope it's an easy solution for you. Sending lots of love. Xxx xxx

Mouse I don't know anything yet. Tubing coming away is fairly common and easily fixed under local anaesthetic - but she's not convinced that this is the problem.

Fingers crossed that's all it is. Not worry about it ( I know easier said than done) until you know for certain because the old stress head will effect your eating habits and you have done so well up to now. How's your other half doing. :)

Did you take any extra insurance when you had the band. I was offered it, but just couldn't afford it as it was an extra £1000, for me because I had had surgery before.

I feel for you so much, everything crossed for you. Xxx

What sort of liquid diet was it...cocktails and baileys?????
Don't panic I'm sure it will be water retention, try again tomorrow x
