Hi im new on here and cant decide weather to get banded with THG OR WLS i have one consultation with THG on Monday in Nottingham thats where i live but would be banded at the Dolan Hospital the surgeon would be either Mr Holdstead, Mr Super, Mr Sigurdision and then 2yrs aftercare would be in Nottingham, then on Wednesday i have a consultation with WLS in Sheffield at the Claremont Hospital then 3yrs aftercare would be in Sheffield the surgeon would be Mr R Ackroyd.Has anyone be banded by any of these.

Hiya...yes mr ackroyd did my band at the Claremont. I'll be honest I can't fault them from start to finish my only advice is think about the fills after as you need to go at least monthly for first 2/3 months to be topped up lol and so need flexibility in your part in making it to clinic on the 1 day they are there! I never struggle to get appts and have received nothing but a great service from them so would definitely advocate them but do ensure you're willing to make the journey for your aftercare appts post op as this is the vital bit xx

My journey started in July last year and I have just lost 7st1lb since then and 8stlb since my heaviest. You can do it; just follow the guidance of your provider. I shamefully admit that I do not do any exercise, apart from walk my 3 dogs, but for me, that is working. So why change what aint broke!

Mr Super did mine at THG and everything has been great. No problems whatsoever. I would highly recommend them personally. I think the op is now less than £5k so a thousand pounds less than when I had it done in July. Whichever provider you go with, I am sure there will be both success and failure stories, because we as individuals are all so different. Just ask loads of questions, do loads of research and then make the right choice for you

Bad Consultation

Hi I went for a Consultation today with THG in Nottingham today not much was said only that i could get banded and that i would not have to do a pre op diet then all she kept going on about was the money i said that i have some questions that i needed to be answered but they just didnt have the time. (RUDE) so it dont look like i will be going to them to get banded. Hopefully my consultation in Sheffield at the Claremont Hospital on Wednesday will be much better.

Yes I'm sure if they only want to talk money I would be a bit concerned to. There will be better places i think keep looking keep your options open. good luck xx

Hi after consultation yes2day with THG they were on to me again this morning about booking my band with them they stand not a chance of getting my booking
