hi everyone, found out a couple of hours ago, im not allowed back to my bungalow, possibly for a week or more.
apparantly they were doing final checks to the area and transco found major problems with the gas main that feeds all our bungalows in that area, there are 10 of us affected. because of the age of the mains pipes they wont fix them and are going to replace them, its apparantly a big job. we,ve been given a week as a benchmark, but could be a bit less, could be a bit more. we are in the process of finding out how we c an get food to my cat, apparantly rspca have been putting food through letter boxes with animals in.
fingers crossed, it will be less than they think, and not more. hugs xxx

Oh dear Dawn..i am sorry to hear this.. Its a right pain in the whatsit!!!
I would have thought the RSPCA would get the cat out of the house..with the help of the fire brigade surely....
bless you hun..I know I would be worrying about my animals,so I feel for you ...I hope you get home soon...
Keep us updated hun x x x

Oh no... I hope you don't have to wait too long ! It must leave you feeling so helpless in the meantime. Poor pusscat too... can't they evacuate the pets ? I'd hate it if it were my cats....

You poor thing Dawn  I hope you get home before a week! Better to be safe though if its the gas pipes...I really feel sorry for you (HUGS) XXX

Oh dear Dawn, that is a long time... I'm hoping it's sooner for you rather than later Angel... poor Kitty... what an ordeal... at your side always precious xxx

thanks e veryone, we managed to get food in for dolly, about an hour ago, she is fine, i couldnt go in cos i couldnt walk far enough, and we couldnt get the car close enough, so sarah went in, and put a load of food d own for her, hopefully we will be able to arrange something for the beginning of the week as well. i know she is better off in her own house, and the stress i know she would be under if we tried to move her isnt worth risking. at least she has food now, and is comfy on my bed, sleeping on my nightie. so i dont feel as anxious about her now. we went to the acorn centre this afternoon, its where they have got all the donated stuff that we might need, so i went and got some toiletries, and socks, knickers, a couple of big t shirts to use as nighties, etc, all the underwear is new obviously, but i was amazed at just how much stuff has been donated by the big stores, mothercare have even donated prams n clothes, some clothes are 2nd hand, but are all washed n pressed, but there are also loads n loads of new ones. but above all, its a nice place to go, just to chill and have a cuppa, or even a sandwhich if u want, i never bothered going before now, cos i just used sarahs stuff, but we ar e gonna go a few times this week, just to have a change of scenery. also i found out, when we do eventually move back home, we are all going to be given food parcels, because all the power was off too so everuthing in the fridges /freezers will have to be chucked. i cant believe how generous ppl are, not only in donating it all, but also in the time they are gi ving up to be there for us, its fantastic. i was nearly in tears just at the thoughtfullness of them all, nothing was too much trouble for them. anyway, ive waffled on enough for now, see ya all later, and thanks for your kind thoughts. big hugs xxxx

Oh Dawny, you are going through it pet and I'm so sorry you can't go home yet. BUT I want you home in complete safety, so even if it's a week or more, now you know Dolly is ok, can you try and look at it as an enforced holiday?

People can be so lovely and really pull out the stops in a crisis can't they. I'm glad you got out a bit, and your mind is at rest about your pussycat.

Big hugs and snuggles. xxxxxxx

Aww hon, I didnt know about this trouble, if there is anything I can do to help just give me a call, I have a nice warm spare room if you need it.

Well it just goes to show that when push comes to shove there is still a community spirit in Manchester and surrounding areas. I think Manchester gets a lot of stick and hearing something positive like this makes me smile.....Take care Dawn and I hope you get back home sooner rather than later :D XX

aw thanks girls, i must admit i felt like id been kicked in the stomach earlier on, but now i know dolly is ok, i feel more settled. ive been doing more walking than i normally do this week, pluse going up and down stairs, and as the week has worn on, ive got wearier and wearier, and weepier as well, but sarah has taken the kids out to a bonfire tonight, and ive been put to bed with jons lappy and a hot water bottle against my back, and im slowely relaxing now. so im gonna try and have a little sleep in a bit, and hopefully ill feel brighter then.
i cant thank you all enough for your thoughts and i know your all hoping i get home soon. steph im at my d aughters who lives about 2 mins a way in the car, but thanks for you lovely invite huni, your a star. charis i c ant believe as poorly as you are your still thinking of others like u are, your an a ngel huni.

Aww Dawn... rest up and take it easy now. I'm so glad dolly is OK, that must be such a relief for you! I have a lovely vision of her all curled up on your nightie where she feels safe and sound ! :kitty:

Awful to read this but better to be safe than sorry.

Hope pusscat is OK - and they are dealing with their toileting as well. Porr thing she must be so frightened.

How wondeful that companies are being so thoughtful and making sure all your needs are being met - you don't think of these things until it happens.

Hope you can go home sooner rather than later

Love and hugs

xxxx

o noooo my fingers are crossed its sooner rather than later!!! poor kitty cat xxx

thanks girls, dolly will be more settled at home with mummys things around her, ive had to leave her for a few days at a time in the past, when ive been in hospital, once was for 10 days, and the other 3 days, but then, i had a neighbour went in every night to feed her, and kristi went in every morning to feed her, but every time they went in, she was where she is now, on my bed with my nighties. so i know she is better off where she is, she is to old to be trying to put her in a carrier and taking her somewhere strange, at least she can get out through her cat flap.
i dont suppose they will be starting work on the gas main now till monday, i dont know if they work on saturdays, but fingers crossed itwont take them too long, id like to be back home for next weekend, but, we shall see.

Blimey Dawny, I hope this sorts it self out soon for you and you are back with your kitty,
