i cant go home yet,

I hope everything works out quickly for you and your family and all your neighbours xx I know what you mean about Manchester and Salford having a bad rep and how people suddenly pull together in times of crisis it's lovely to see people caring about each other for a change xx I just wish it didn't take an incident like this for a community to show it.

hi everyone, have been back to the acorn centre today, and got some more clothes and a coat, its amazing the number of ppl who are giving there time freely on a v olunteer basis to help us all, there are also social workers on hand as well as other professionals, and the red cross have been bussed in from out of the area too. we have also been told today that our local tesco store are giving us all a £40 voucher for when we move back in, so that we can get food, cos all our stuff in fridges and freezers will be ruined, the electric was off for a few days, so there will be basically no fit food in our homes when we go back, they are also making food bags up of tinned foods, they gave us a bag today, because obviousley sarah is feeding me, and its to help her. i cant believe just how much help there is for us now, apparantly we have been designated a disaster zone, so the government will be helping as well hopefully. tomorrow, the trafford centre have donated a showing of toy story 3 to all the irlam families, they told us that because sarah has me here, she is eligable to take the kiddies, so they are going to see it at 10 in the morning, im not going cos i cant sit for that length of time, but while there out i will chill, im finding it hard because im normally on my own, and obviously with 3 children its a lively household, so ill benefit more from the peace n quiet while there out, lol. on a down note, im finding it very hard now going up and down the stairs, its a sort of cumulative effect, and im hurting a lot at the moment. but at least im with fam ily and not stu ck in a hotel room on my own, so i have that to be grateful for. anyway thats up to date for now, hopefully they will be starting on the gas mains on monday, fingers crossed i might be home by a week on monday.

Hope they get the gas pipes sorted out and you can get back to normal. It's amazing how people pull together in times of need x x

Take care & pleased Dolly is safe.

thanks everyone, we all feel a bit more settled here at sarahs now, cos we have a proper sort of timescale, whereas since tuesday, we didnt know what was happening, the kids were really quiet all week, but this last 24 hrs, they are more like their normal selves, cos they know now that im here for a few more days, so its not gonna be so bad now, its mainly me not c oping so well with a noisy lively household, although they are going out of theyre way to make me feel comfy. i couldnt be looked after any better.
the whole community have come together big style, its fantastic. i just hope that the poor families with no homes get settled somewhere soon until theres are re built.
